I thought I had read here about people having their "About Me" page deleted by Ebay for having links outside of ebay?
I am getting ready to sell some lp's and while checking through to find out which ones had any value I was surprised to see 90% of the big record sellers having their website clearly spelled out in their ads such as "check out our great record deals at www.recorddeals.com (not a real site, just an example of how they are writing them in).
Plus, many have actual links to their websites on their about me page. Is this still allowed? I'm confused.

In honor of the Bush Administration, ebay has instituted a "kindler, gentler" links policy.
Here's some info from ebay:
The eBay About Me page may be used to describe the seller's business, and may contain URLs or links to the seller's individual web site. It may not specifically promote off eBay sales or sales of items prohibited on eBay, nor may it contain links to commercial web sites where goods from multiple sellers are aggregated by a common search engine.
Note the operative wording, may not specifically promote. IOH, screaming banners saying, "Buy Your Off-Ebay Items HERE" would most likely produce a negative response from ebay.
More gentle wording, as in, "For more information, visit my website", would probably pass the ebay muster.
Now, with all that said, ebay could reverse themselves at any time & return to the days of no links at any time.

Thanks.
I have to admit I am now a freeloading poster too. AW has my CC so will keep lurking around here until they change something but I did have to find a cheaper posting solution! Even with the new prices they are still one of the highest priced services I have found. Too bad, because I really did like using them!
