I know I saw this months ago,but I never have to do this.
When is the very last time, in days, mins and seconds that I can neg a deadbeat and not get a retliatory neg. I know it is about 60 days, but need exact mins and seconds, because I think I am dealing with an idiot that would do an unwarranted retaliatory !!
Thanks, captbanjo

What you're looking to do is basically "feedback sniping." Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Ebay keeps the auctions active for at least 60 days, then they get purged sometime after that. But they don't purge them exactly when they reach the 60 day mark in the same manner that an auction closes at a set time. Somebody at ebay purges the 60-day+ auctions whenever they get to it. That gives the other person hours, maybe even days to react to your feedback and slam you with a retaliatory feedback. <br />

This is a market opportunity IMO. Just like you can place last second bids with esnipe, we should be able to leave last minute NEG's on ebay duds with eskunk.

I don't think there is any set time. It is about 90 days but last time I checked which was about 6 months ago I could find auctions going back longer that were still in the data base.
Right now I can bring up an auction that I won't be leaving feedback on and it goes back 83 days.

Well, they do have that option in the "My Ebay" feedback system to look up auctions that you haven't left feedback on for the past 90 days. It strikes me odd that you can leave feedback after the auction has dropped out of the active database. My auctions which closed on October 3rd or earlier are coming up as "invalid" which seems to support the "60 day" theory. But if you are still able to access an 83-day auction, then maybe you can leave feedback for up to 90 days. Unfortunately, I'm pretty good about leaving feedback for every transaction, so the fact that I have no auctions older than 60 days without feedback doesn't prove much...

Auctions seem to drop out of the search for completed auctions much faster than they used to but you can still find them when you do a check to leave feedback.
If I remember I will see how long the auction that I haven't left feedback on stays in my ebay file.
