Does anyone know what this mark is? It's on the bottom of a porcelain candelabra that has a lady with a fan...I think it's about 50 years old. Thanks for any help...Cheers!

I think I might have it, but could be totally wrong. On page 110 at the bottom left in Kovel's New Dictionary of Marks, there is a very, very similar mark. If this is it it was made by Von Schieerholz's Porcelain Manufactory Plaue GMBH. It says this compenay made porcelain with a blue or green underglaze. This mark dates it to about 1907. Your crown is just slightly different than the one in the book, the leaves inside the shield are a little different also. This is the only thing in the book that comes close. Post your email and I will send you a photo of the mark in the book, I don't use aw and am not going to waste my time uploading pics. Heather

It does help if I would proof read so you could have the spelling right, it is Schierholz. Here is a Butterfield's auction that is up: http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=598932671&r=0&t=0 I really believe that is what you have. Check your email, I sent a pic of the backstamp. Heather<br />
Edited to add, check completed auctions also, pieces with the cherubs do very, very well if in good condition.
