anybody know a source for 8 1/2 x 11 card board backing? Thanks in advance...

Try your local comic book store - they usually have packs of backings in all sizes.

Try your local print shop -- they often have scraps of all sorts of paper goods.

Kelly Paper sells chipboard. I buy mine locally at any number of different Printer supply houses.

I buy mine at the University Bookstore in the art department. You might try an "art supplies" store.
