Hey everyone, I have a problem that I need help with. I have a bidder who paid me with Bidpay. so I have a money order in my hand but the name on the money order doesnt match the Winner name on the auction! Am I still safe? Should I go ahead and send the item?

I would email the buyer, tell them you received the money order but the name was different.

Then tell them you will send the package to the name and address that goes with the money order since that is what BidPay recommends.

If they had someone else buy the MO for them, and that person did buy it for them, seems they should at least know each other and there shouldn't be a problem.

If they don't know each other, at least the person who PAID for the MO will get something!

The address is the same for both. You see I have never dealt with bidpay that much until now. If this was a fraudulent payment, would bidpay go after me for retrobution like paypal and paydirect do? I realize that they are different kinds of services.

I emailed the bidder about the 2 names and bidpay about their policies on this last night. Still no response from either. I was hoping I could figure this out before I went off to work this morning. I was going to mail the package at lunch today.

Thanks so much

I believe there is a no chargeback policy at Bidpay. I think you are safe

If it is the same address, what is the problem? I could understand concern if it were a different address but it isn't.

After all, what you have is a money order, not a credit card payment or a check. Cash it, mail the item and go on.

I agree with rarriffle. It is the same address and you got paid so there shouldn't be a problem. Just mail the item--maybe they want it to go as a gift to another person in the same household.

The Western Union money order from BidPay is as good as cash--no problem with that at all.

thanks so much everyone! I really mean it. I am not used to using Bidpay. After all the fraud I experienced with Paypal and PayDirect, I got a little nervous.

I want you to know that I cashed the money order and sent the item. Still never heard from Bidpay. I guess if I ever need their Cust Service, I might as well forget about it.

Thanks again and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

UPDATE:
The bidder's husband gave me the phone number of the person the bidder placed the bid for and whose credit card and address was used. I called and left a message 3 days ago when I cashed the M.O. and sent the item.
Yesterday I was surprised with a call from the actual buyer who verified everything.

Thanks so much everyone for helping with this problem I had. Looks like it will all turn out ok.
