***Free Listing Day***
To thank you for your business on eBay, we are holding a Free Listing
Day on Thursday, December 20th, 2001. Free Listing Day will start at
00:00:01 PST on Thursday, December 20th, 2001 and end at 23:59:59 PST
on Thursday, December 20th, 2001.
During Free Listing Day, all insertion fees will be credited for new
listings on the U.S. site (www.ebay.com), eBay Motors and eBay Stores.
Listing fees for items listed in eBay Live Auctions, eBay Premier,
Real Estate or any of eBay's International sites will NOT be
credited. Free Listing Day does not affect Auction for America
listings.
During Free Listing Day, the insertion fee will be charged and then
immediately credited to your eBay account. All other fees (home page
featured, featured plus, highlight, bold, gift icon, gallery, gallery
featured, 10 day listings, extended duration surcharge for eBay
Stores, etc.) will still be charged.
Please note that there is an error in the listing confirmation email
that does not show that you have been credited. This is a mistake and
you have been credited. Your Account Status will be updated and show
the proper credit.
During Free Listing Day, you may notice a slowdown in search
indexing. Because of the volume of new listings, you should expect
Search updates to be 12 to 15 hours behind on the two days following
Free Listing Day. Please note that this does not impact listings'
indexing cycles. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that
this may cause.
Free Listing Day will provide even more opportunity than ever to find
exactly what you want on eBay. We encourage you to share your items
with others and get in on the action!
Thank you!

That's what's nice about Yahoo, they sent me an email notifying me about free list day and I'm not a powerseller on yahoo.
Oddly, ebay claims they are thanking us for our business but 80% of the sellers are unaware of it.

I run all my auctions through auctionworks. They sent a warning email yesterday saying that traditionally ebay runs a free listing day in the last week of the year and for all of us to get ready for it.
clicking all my items for a quick launch is finding themselves in a traffic jam but they also warned about that and recommended times when there should be no problem. So clicking them individually is getting through without a prob. If I want to click my entire inventory to launch in the afternoon then it should all push through at once.

I just checked my email preferences on ebay and I DID have a check next to receive special offers, special days etc HUMMMM. Is it part of the "daily Status" email that we get? IF so, I never read that and just delete it. Is it there?

I have been a powerseller for over 6 months. I NEVER received an email! So it does not go out to all powersellers!

Edited because I didn't see it on the Announcement Board but was on the Status board and not the marketing board. Did they always have two separate boards??
Thanks for all of you who let us know

ive recieved the email about the free listing and im far from being a power seller. i run maybe 10 auctions a month.

Just a silly point to make to those that believe that the free listing ad from ebay only went out to powersellers--not true. I received the notification and I am not a powerseller--heck, I haven't even sold anything. I am a Buyer, only a Buyer, will be a Seller someday, but nothing as of yet.
So, given that tidbit, just what is the advantage to being a powerseller again?

Just to clarify an earlier message. My notification from eBay came in a Power Seller wrapper with a Power seller Logo and a Power seller icon to click to the Power seller area of eBay.
I do not know for a fact that only power sellers got the message but mine came as a Power seller announcement.
I have seen that claimed in other places after my message so I guess they do not know what they are talking about either
I guess I was basing my statement on I have never received it before until I became a Power seller.

I am at work and just dying to get home and start listing!! I normally start my auctions at $9.99 or less to pay the cheaper listing fee. Will it still be free if I start an auction let's say at $25.00? Does anybody know for sure if the second category is free or not? What if we launch through AuctionWatch, is it still free??? Thanks!
