Well, we have sore fingers from typing, red eyes from shooting digital pics and neckaches from hunching over the computer but we got 150 unique auctions done yesterday!!!
Of those, only 3 did not make it into Ebay with all the flood. Not bad AW! Granted, we may only get "night owl" snipers on some of them but, heck, Free is Free!
Lets all pat eachother on the back (just be gentle - LOL)

we were prepared for this; didn't know the exact date it would happen, but had lots of items ready to go. We managed 283 unique items!
Anyone know the approximate date for July fld? I want to 1000!

I anticipated the FLD, so I had about 100 items ready to go. They were all set for 10pm starts, when I saw that they were having trouble, I pushed them all to 9pm starts, thinking 3 hours would be more then enough. I got about half in, and I just listed the rest this morning.... In my catagory, it doesn't matter much... 1 day list is about 300 items. I guess 1 day of FLD will be about 500 items, and if they search sunday night, I SHOULD get some hits...

I was prepared for it this time too. I had 2300 hundred auctions ready to go. I logged in to the auction service I use, and got the message that their "Launch Windows Were Full" and that I wouldn't be able to launch anything at all that day. This was at 10am Eastern Time.
After several rounds of e-mail, I gave up. I'm now shopping for another service.
So how many free listings did I do yesterday? Zip, Zero, Nada, Zilch, NOT ONE GOSH DARN LISTING! After preparing over 2300 auctions!
Moderators take Note: I'm not complaining about Auction Watch, but the service I use (er, used) does have the same initials however.

Auctionwatch crapped out on me at the end, so I was charged 36.30 worth of fees had their service been working I would have saved that money. I listed about 200 items total. I am very tired...not working today and taking a break, just disappointed about the fees....
Thank you so much
Laura

I was on the computer from 6:00 pm until 2:00am and all that listed were 6 items. When I finally signed off I had 27 items processing, I figured it would take a little longer due to the volume. At on while AW would not let me sign on, saying something was wrong with the database. I am so disappointed, I was not able to take advantage of free list day, and I put forth the effort, and still no reward. When I woke up this morning to check my listing, I saw that they never went through. So I checked AW pending list, and they were all still there, with error beside each auction. Can someone clearly explain what and why this happen? And wouldn't AW have record as to the time I launched each auction, it was way before the cut off time. I would think they could still send it through, and I not be charged. It's not fair, but I just wanted to get this off my chest so that I can move forward today. Thanks for listening guys, and Happy Holidays!!!

A free llisting day may be helpful to some, but it's really done for ebay and their pocketbook and not yours. If you think of it, ebay realizes that many of the listing for the Christmas season is primarally over. With this in mind, this listing will drop, and when the listings drop, revenue drops. To bring people back into the practice of listing, they offer free listing day. Ebay might not get a listing fee, but if someone buys the item, they get a commission. It keeps people interested in listing and people in browsing the millions of new listings.
I have never really listed on a free listing day. Did I miss out on something?

I listed 144 unique auctions yesterday. I started at 3:30am and quit at 10:30pm I did take a couple hour break late in the day. As I was listing these one at a time at eBay yesterday I was thinking I should probably use a bulk listing service but after reading the problems others have with them I will stick with one at a time.

yeager,
lots of sellers just cant pass up freebies.
they figure their time is free,if they sell a few, they save on listing fee.
my question is- who will do the buying??

We also got in right at the 1,300 mark maybe a few more.
Bins started good but tapered off. My regular auctions closeing today are a bit slow but about 35% bid rate so far on 18 closes. We have 100 closing Today then a big break till Sunday.

I aimed for 100, only got 68 in. I should have taped Survivor. I did skip a couple meals though. The bulk loading has never worked with my browser, from what I hear of the problems some had, maybe I'm lucky.
"my question is- who will do the buying??"
You'll be surprised how much after Christmas buying there is. Last year I had 75% sell through between Christmas and N.Y. If it wasn't for FLD last year, I would have missed out on all those sales.
I guess people shop for those things they didn't get at Christmas, and I know people who like a special treat for themselves at this time of year.

Normally I list 10 per day. I got 165 in for the FLD! It was easy and took about 30 minutes using AW. The auctions got hung up for just a short while.

I got 340 auctions ready to go and all but 17 made it through. 5% didn't make it.
Being in Alaska FLD started here at 11pm the 19th and ended 11pm the 20th. I stayed up on the 19th and scheduled about 250 pending auctions to launch the next morning both here and the other (AW) place. (I've also decided to come back to Auctionwatch because between the two Auctionwatch is better.)
Then on the 20th I got up and started listing the rest throughout the day from Auctionwatch since the other place wasn't accepting any more auctions.
As log jammed as Auctionwatch was I'm actually surprised I got as many through as I did. I'm happy.

I listed 0 too...had nothing but trouble trying to get into eBay yesterday evening... I guess I was the only person on planet earth or at least among AW users...
Today...no problems can pop right in and go anywhere I want and search and everything.

I got about 60 on yesterday. That's good for me since I have a regular full time job. I went to bed with most of them still pending - looked this morning and the last one launched at 11:45 pm pacific time WHEW - that was close. Scheduled them all to launch between 6:00 and 7:00pm. Yes, there was lag time - but at least they launched and hey, free is free. I'd be furious if I was with one of the services that wouldn't even take any more auctions! AW was late, but at least they got on in time.

I was also disappointed in the amount actually listed. About 20% of listings went through. I bet I would have had better luck doing it manually. In fact, I think AW should give us a free day for not providing the service we pay for.
I was also disappointed that my email noting me of the free listing day came in at 3:00 pm the same day. THAT REALLY STUNK! They could have alerted us a bit earlier - basically all I did is relist unsold items.
I am not usually a complainer, but it is obvious there were some real glitches in this promotion.

I only got about 68 unique auctions up, but I don't use a bulk loader.
I tried AW a year or so ago and had nothing but problems. I went back a few days ago and downloaded Auction Pro via eBay (I use to use Auction Assistant when it was Blackthorn) anyway, unfortunately the way I create auctions now, I can't use their system because it demands a Title, which I put in the body, since I create all my auctions in FrontPage.
After reading the nightmare that occurred here yesterday for those who use AW, I don't think I'll try AW again. I am using Auction Tamer for everything else and love it, but have some glitch problems when listing through it, but will talk it over with them regarding the glitches as their system is best for my style of ads and they have been marvelous to work with.
WHAT OTHER MASS LISTERS ARE THERE, THAT RUN ON A TIME BASIS, THAT IS THEY WILL LIST IN MASS AT A GIVEN TIME AND ARE DEPENDABLE???

I manually listed all day. Got a 9 am start, and worked pretty steady till 11 that night. I made sure to get small breaks for stretching ( breaks meaning, throw a load of laundry in, take a load out *L*). I had just a few frustrating moments, but the place I host through, and list through worked pretty well. 269 listings later, my hands said NO MORE!!! So far, several Bins. I'm happy

I managed to get 218 auctions that day. I use the other AW and since they had their launch windows full for bulk listings I pushed each one through one at a time through their service.

I listed 240 and have already had about a dozen bin and several more that have bids. I had 7 things that didn't start through AW at the end but guess that is not as bad as some people. I don't know if I can ask this on here but does anyone have any other listers like AW they use that do a good job and aren't as expensive.

Zero, that Listing period is good for Bargain Hunters, NOT for me, I always list items with a starting Bid of about 10 Percent of what the item "should" close for , OR EVEN LESS!! With all the listings, mine get lost in the multitude, and I TAKE a Beating come closing....pass... <br />
