"YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME BUT YOUCAN'T FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME". ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

HERE GOES, I BELIEVE THE NAME IS DAMEON? (SORRY IF I MISSPELLED)............DAMON. I KNEW I WOULD FIND IT SOMEWHERE HERE, MY APPOLOGIES.

NUMEROUS E MAILS AND HOOPS AND CANNED RESPONSES FROM PAY PAL...........

PAY PAL INFORMS ME TWO BUYERS SENT ME PAYMENTS,,,,,,,,,,,,ONE FROM CLEAR BACK IN MARCH! THE OTHER JUST LAST WEEK. THEY DID SEND PAYMENTS TO THE WRONG E MAIL ADDRESS. ENDED MY E MAIL ADDRESS IN .COM NOT....... .NET.(ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ACTUAL ACCOUNT, DO NO BELIVE THE E MAIL PAY PAL SENDS YOU.)............

I CONTACTED THE BUYERS BOTH SAID THEY HAD RECIEVED NOTHING BACK IN THEIR ACCOUNTS AS THE LETTER FROM PAY PAL STATED. (TIME WAS RUNNING OUT TO COLLECT FUNDS AND THEY WOULD BE RETURNED TO THE SENDER.) BOTH BUYERS HAVE SKIRTED THE ISSUE AND REPLY THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY PURCHASES. (SHOOT I DON'T EVEN RECALL THE SITUATIONS)..................

PAY PAL SAYS THEY CANNOT, ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CONTACT THE BUYERS,,,,,,,,,BULL. POINT IS MULTIPLY THIS BY THOUSANDS OF OTHERS AND PAY PAL HAS A TON OF UNCLAIMED FUNDS WHICH THEY HAVE NO DESIRE TO HELP WORK OUT THE PROBLEMS. PROFIT! PROFIT! PROFIT! WHERE ARE THE RETURNED FUNDS THEY NEVER GOT BACK. ???? IT AIN'T IN MY ACCOUNT AND BOTH BUYERS WHO KNOW NOTHING OF EACH OTHER SAY THE SAME THING. NOTHING CAME BACK TO THIER ACCOUNTS. GUESS WHO HAS THE FUNDS. YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, PAY PAL. WHAT'S UP ,,,,,,,,,DAMON?............

NOW THAT THIS IS OUT IN THE PUBLIC EYE I HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE AT PAY PAL. MERRY CHRISTMAS. JACK.

I may be misunderstanding you, but if PayPal is holding money (unclaimed because nobody has registered that .com addy) and it belongs to you, just go into your PayPal account and add the addy to your account. PayPal lets you add multiple email addy's to your account. Then the money should get deposited into your account. Won't hurt to try.

Hi,

All unclaimed funds are the property of the sender.

If you did not receive payment, one of a couple of items happened:

a) typo in the email address
b) wrong domain used for registered email (.com or .net)
c) punctuation at the end of the email

The email could get through in item b because the email provider/ISP scrubs the error. Emails are only notifications that a payment attempt has been made, but the transaction occurs at the account level---where it has to be exact.

PayPal just sent me an email about a payment from back in February. I checked my records and found I had forgot to accept the funds. When someone sends money with an unverified address you have to accept payment.

I thought it was good of PayPal to remind me of this becuase I thought I had accepted it when I mailed the item. I guess I must have been busy and missed it.

I would add the .com address to your account and the money will go to you. I had this same thing happen to me back when PayPal first started up and that is how they told me to fix it.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR IDEA ABOUT JUST DOING THE .COM THING. I DON'T FEEL THAT IS A PROPER SOLUTION TO A PAY PAL PROBLEM, BUT THANKS.

NOW TO THE PAY PAL RESPONSE. AS I SAID BEFORE , YES, IT WAS SENT TO A WRONGLY TYPED ADDRESS.

I HAVE INFORMED EACH BUYER AND THEY BOTH DENY ANY PURCHASES. THEY WANT ME TO BEAR THE BURDEN OF PROOF. SHOOT I HAVE 100'S OF DEALS GOING AND THE ONE FROM MARCH,,,,,,,,I THOUGHT YOU SAY YOU CLEAR THE BOOKS EVERY 30 DAYS? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH PAY PAL DROPPING THEM A LINE AND ASKING TO UPDATE PAY PAL? THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR FROM ME AGAIN AND ONE MADE IT VERY CLEAR OF THAT. THEY HAVE NOTHING TO GAIN SO WHY PERSUE? IF THERE IS A PRIVATE WAY I CAN SEND YOU THE EMAIL ADDRESSES OF THOSE IN QUESTION LET ME KNOW. THIS IS CERTAINLY FASTER AND BETTER THAN DEALING DIRECTLY WITH PAY PAL. I THANK YOU FOR THESE QUICK AND UNCANNED RESPONSES. JACK.

SHOOT I DON'T EVEN SEE THE TRANSACTION FROM THE 7TH OF DEC. O1 MYSELF IN MY ACCOUNT. Hmmmmm, MAKES SENSE NOW THAT I THINK OF IT, WENT TO A DEAD ACCOUNT NAME.

I WILL REPEAT THEY HAVE NO DESIRE TO SIFT THROUGH PAY PAL TRANSACTIONS AS THEY HAVE NOTHING TO GAIN.

Welcome to the club. The funds most likely never made it to your account because the sender of the money put the wrong e-mail address in. Some internet providers can decipher the e-mail with a period or .com on the end and some how manage to get that to you.
Paypal must have upgraded their system and found these funds that have been unclaimed with some going back more than a year.
Good luck collecting the money now.
I made numberous calls and sent e-mails to paypal and all I got was agrevation.
The money that should have been mine was returned to sender.
You may want to check other thread titles since this issue was hot about a week or so ago.

I also lost funds this week - I tried to add the period after the email address and PayPal rejected it. Money went back to the buyer. One of the six buyers did graciously return the money to me. There is always an honest one out there. PayPal just gave me the run around.

I have been reading this thread and what I understand is that you are blaming PayPal because you never received your money. Wrong email addresses etc. Well, how good is your bookwork. Evidently some are making so much money that they don't check to make sure that it is gone into the proper account.

Now I am not blaming the Seller, buyer or PayPal. But think it clearly who's mistake is it if you don't receive your payment. One thing you have to do is keep better records. I am only a small seller so I don't have any problems because when a seller sends me their payment PayPal sends me a notice. I staple that notice to my eBay auction and the EOA notice from ebay. I periodocally check paypal to see if I have any funds that need to be accepted. I had that problem with a seller last week and it took approximately 15 minutes to decide that the seller was a .net not .com told me to pay under the .com address

Good luck I hope all of you can straighten it out with PayPal. Merry Christmas

AS FOR BIDSBIDS, WHO CARES. WHAT IS SAID IS MORE IMPOTANT THAN YOUR PET PEEVES.

NOW TO BUSINESS. LIBRA63, EVIDENTLY YOU DON'T SELL MUCH. WHEN PEOPLE DO, DO BUSINESS HERE, IT GETS HECKTIC SOMETIMES AND YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ IS WHAT IT IS. YOU CAN BET I WILL NEVER AGIN ASSUME THE NOTICE FROM PAY PAL TO BE TRUE. YES, I WILL CHECK EVERY TIME FROM NOW ON. BECAUSE AS DEMONSTRATED BY THE ABOVE COMMENTS YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR FUNDS AND THEY ARE "NOT" RETURNED TO THE SENDER. BOTH SAID THEY HAD RECIEVED NOTHING BACK FROM PAY PAL. I BELIEVE THEY ARE BOTH SINCERE AND HONEST FOLKS. BALLS IN ANYBODIES COURT.

I would be willing to chip another $10.00 to YANK YOUR CAPS LOCK off of your keyboard. I generally attach very little, if any, credence to anyone who can't find that one key. You are SHOUTING when you do this and I don't listen to people shouting at each other. Just a word to the wise, or least, tired of seeing all caps.

JACKSWEBB Don't be upset about posters asking you to turn off the caps. They are doing it because it's hard to read a post that is in all capital letters. Some won't even read because of it.

And it really is bad manners, it is shouting.

As for your PayPal problem, I can't help. I have had no problems so far. But I see when there is a problem it's very hard to get it resolved.

Good luck & stay with it.

PS be nice & turn off the caps.

JACKSWEBB, sorry to hear you're having problems. There are lots of adaptations you can get that will make your screen fonts as large as you need without typing in ALL CAPS. If you're having trouble typing, voice recognition software has come a long way since the early days and can really be a lifesaver for the handicapped or just for those of us who are developing carpal tunnel problems.

I've worked extensively with blind computer users, editing their books and papers, and these adaptations really help. To the person on the other side of the screen, they are invisible...only the user knows the difference.

Well now Jack, that changes everything and I changed my mind. I like your posts all in caps.

I've learned a valuable lesson and I am very sorry I did not even consider that there may be a reason that you post in capital letters.

I apologise.

bidsbids & railfanbob:
I think you should pay up,
or at least apologise.

PS: That Talk & Type suggestion is a great idea. I would like that myself. I believe it only costs about 30.00

I am surprized and somewhat taken aback about the comments made in reference to whether or not I ever served in combat. That same disabilities act that you are so proud applies to me, also. I attempted to enlist in the U.S. Navy in 1971 after graduating from college. They wanted people who could HEAR REALLY GOOD or at least normally. I couldn't and still can't. And wear hearing aids to prove it. Let's keep the topic on the topic and not throw stones at people we don't even know.

Wow, this posting got really exciting..I would take those folks up on the beer ( you can decide if its O'Doouls or the real stuff
Anyway, to add my 2 cents, I was also deprived of a Paypal payment- the bidder put in the wrong eddress apparently, and when I tried to go back and add it, it would not credit me the funds ( post-sale.)So, consequently, I tried to email the buyer, who of course no longer had the original email address. So, I could not even contact her. It was quite a while after, and I was in fact lulled into the notification beleiving trap.

It was only like $2 so I didn't decide to pursue it snail mail style, although if it was more $$ I would have. Still it is a bummer to lose funds.

You should maybe pursue the snail mail option? If you send them some nice reminders maybe they will fess up with the cash. Maybe if you then send them so not-so nice-reminders.....I mean, if you are talking about some real $ ( not just 2 bucks) it is probably worth a few stamps.

I am glad this worked out for you! I have a family coat of arms with the motto Semper paratus (always prepared) - so, yes, I understand semper fi. My family is descended from one of the Norman lords that came to England with William in 1066.
I want to thank you, personally, for your service in Vietnam. My high schol class lost 4 members in Vietnam - all Marines. You should be proud of your record and I am thankful for the men like you of every generation that fought for this country. My original comment about your use of caps was made more in jest than anything and I want to apologise for any trouble that this caused you.
