I just received an email from someone who bid on one of my auctions that ends in 4 days. This person stated that they bid on it in error and didnt mean to bid on it.
I wrote back and told the bidder that they had plenty of time to rescind their bid before the auction closes.
Any thoughts on this? What would you do in this situation? Input is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

With 4 days to go I'd let them off the hook, it's no biggie really, likely someone elses bid will take its place. I wouldn't even concern myself with it.
Sure beats a NPB....

I don't think that you should cancel the other person's bid. The only reason to do it would be if you had already done business with the bidder.
They should retract the bid. Let it go on their feedback record.
To quote the comics, "with great power comes great responsibility."
To cancel the bid - go to My eBay, scroll to the bottom, find "Cancel bids on my item" If it does not sell, there are no final values fees to assess. You will still have to pay the listing fees - and you can relist it.
Tell the bidder to search the Help system for "retract a bid" and follow the links.

Do Not retract his bid. Let the individual do it themself. If they don't know how help them do it. I wouldn't worry about a retracted bid on an auction that has 4 days left. The person just made a mistake or found the same item at a better price. Either way the retracted bid will show up on their feedback page and that's enough punishment for being dumb or greedy. Unfortunately, some people will bid on an item prior to reading the entire description and then later have buyer remorse. It happens-no reason to worry about it.
