Someone asked me if the book CD is abridged or unabridged. What's the defintion of abridged? All I found is "afraid of people", no that's definitely not the one I'm looking for. 'Elp! I'm thinking it means someone else does the voice recording other than the author. Am I right?

I think abridged would mean a shortened version.

Unabridged = the reader READS the ENTIRE book in its ENTIRITY!

Abridged = the publisher & author (hopefully) comes up with a shortened version (sort of like condensed milk) that hopefully captures the "spirit" of the book!

I sell ooooodles of UNABRIDGED audiobooks, but can't GIVE AWAY the ABRIDGED ones [ edited by tomwiii on Jan 16, 2002 01:02 PM ]
