It's finally happened! Trippy cleaned the garage - it's Winter and make room for the Harley! We both just looked around the house, what we can see of it now. We Ebay sellers must be of a special breed! The only thing we can do to regain sanity is to have a clearance sale, mutually agreed upon. Besides, the mother-in-law is coming in two weeks, the grandson wants to have friends over, and the kittens are past the cute and cuddles stage! He did build a storage shed last summer, but that's full, too! Today is photo day, and then it's going on! It would be so nice to be able to dust and vacuum again - never thought I'd ever say that! Thanks for letting me vent. Do we all get carried away like this? Let the fun begin!

We have two storage sheds full of stuff from an estate. I had been selling something here and there from it, but yesterday decided it's time to get rid of it all at once. I don't mind selling the cameras, stero and books but the clothes and misc boxed items I dread. I'm making a donation run today of four bags; sold off a pair of winter tires, and gave some to my friend for his flea market today.

I had tried to clear out of the garage of the toys at Christmas time but I only sold a few large boxes full. (Our garage is really a converted store, we're zoned for business although I use it as storage for inventory and office. We have people who want to rent out our store so I'd like to sell all this stuff, but I've been saying that for three years. Just too much for my lazy self.

Well when it gets above 0 and the snow is gone then it is garage cleaning time and then off to auction. Today I made myself a promise. Get rid of the crap and only buy what you can put on ebay for the week. No other stuff. I did purchase today 3 items, but it will be on ebay by Sunday night, that is after the Packers beat the St. Louis Rams game. Go Pack Go

Thank you both! It it amazing how we get caught up with this and it multiplies when we aren't looking! It is nice to know others have the same problem. But we've begun the photos and looks like this is going to be a long week or month!

I don't have a lot of inventory of my own, but a friend dropped off some things he wanted us to list that he found in a house he just bought. Looks like antique things which I know nothing about - like an old fire extinguisher which is just glass balls of chemicals and things like that - don't hardly know where to begin. He dropped them off in October, and I would like them out of my house now (and he would like to get some money). But, like Libra it will wait until after the Packer game! (Unless they start losing really bad - then I just can't bear to watch. I'll watch with one eye and do me ebay research to try to figure out what these items are with the other eye)

Hi ihula

My advice is to be careful with the glass ball fire extinguisher. ebay has some strict rules about selling them and most carriers will not ship them. The rules can be found here.

Some of the earlier embossed ones had salt water in them. There is some interesting info here about the safety when collecting them as many are filled with carbon tetrachloride.

Oh, wow...your right. I haven't looked at mine in awhile, but I think they're the teardrop ones. I think I give them back to my friend and let him deal with it. I'd be too afraid to ship it. If it broke in the post office that would be quite the catastrophy!

I didn't know about the danger of these either and bought and sold several over the years. I would just wrap them in a bit of newspaper and toss them in a box and luckily none of them ever broke in my car on the way home.

One day I was busy in the shop and a friend came in and he found a customer shaking a red ball one and he informed him of the danger and then he told me. I haven't purchased any in years but I do understand why people collect them. As long as they are aware of the danger it is okay.
