Question to all you sellers: I believe that Super Bowl Sunday is Feb. 4th. How do you feel about ending auctions that evening? Would it depend on whether you are selling guy stuff or girl stuff? Just wondering.~Adele

I have never noticed any difference. Those that want to bid still do. Not everyone in this wide world either listens to or watches sports.
to not list auctions because of a date or event, just makes bigger sales for the sellers that do list.

In my area, Sundays are always bad. I don't list or close auctions on Sundays.
And not everyone cares about a football game.

The Internet is global -- not just USA. A lot of people around the world have no clue of what Super Bowl is. A lot of people in the US don't care about sports. On the other hand, most people have computers in their living room facing the TV.

I have auctions end every Sunday night, and the superbowl makes no difference as far as my items are concerned.
In fact, I have usually done better on that day.

What do you all find is the best day and time to end auctions.
Thanks

Thanks, everyone.
Darinoreman: It depends on what you're selling. Figure out when your target buyers will be on their computers rather than out partying or going to games or cleaning house or getting children off to school.
Do you ever watch QVC? If so, you would notice that they aim almost nothing at women on the weekends, especially Saturdays, when they correctly assume that most women are doing chores, shopping, catching up, whatever. And they don't try to sell shop tools during a workday, either.
I posed this question originally because I may be wanting to sell some items that are aimed more toward men, and I thought that, even if the game was over on Feb. 4th, people may still be in their favorite watering holes or staying on at friends' houses after the game is over. I dunno now!

I have noticed a very interesting thing on ebay.
If you sell items geared toward women buyers, you sales drop off whenever money is short, such as right before school starts and as soon as the government mentions recession.
On the other hand, if you sell items geared towards men, the sales never slow down. Men buy their toys and neither rain, snow or dark of night will keep them from it.
You could list a red line hot wheel at 3:30 am and 5,000 men would stay up to bid on it1!!LOL

The SuperBowl is Feb.3. I will not have any auctions closing that day. I think it is a no brainer. 99% of my customers are in the USA and 60% or more of them will be at a party or watching the game. It is hard enough to get good prices when nothing is going on I am sure not going to try and compete with the SuperBowl.

Probably! Not everyone is into football, and some of the people might be more interested in the computer. Besides, if they really are interested in something you are selling, they'll have it on watch and will either bid before with proxy or show others what they're looking at! Not everyone has a computer at home! Good luck!

Another question: Does anyone know approximately what time on the East Coast the Super Bowl would be ending?
