On 12/10/01, I was sent an email in response to a claim I had filed with Ebay's insurance. It concerned a fraud auction where the seller stole my money. On 12/10 Ebay sent me an email saying I would receive $175 for my claim and to contact them if I did not receive it within 30 days. After 30 days, on 1/10/02, I replied to the email and let them know I had not received the money. I got no response (other than the canned email they always send out saying they received your email). I called on 1/17/02 and asked that someone in the Fraud Prevention Group (who signed the email) to call me back. I have still heard nothing. What should I do next? Tammy

How about emailing every email addy you can find for ebay, such as the ones for safeharbor (including timesensitive, for example), with your issue. Wait another few days, and then if you don't hear, email them again and tell them you are going to publicize that their fraud protection is a joke - since all their "the buyer is protected" advertising is important to them. Maybe that will get their attention.

Not sure if they monitor their chat boards, but maybe starting a thread there with an obvious title might draw someone's attention?

How about contacting their insurance company (lloyds of london?) directly as well.

The good news is that they've said you'll get your money, so you probably will.

may be the check is lost.
if the insurer is issuing and mailing the checks, you can bet they drag it out as long as possible, think of the 911 bills some of them have to pay.
but i think you can rest assured you will get a check,it is a matter of when?/

I would not have minded had they sent a real email and said "Thanks for letting us know, we will investigate and get back with you by xxxx" but they have not even responded. The canned email you get says they "try" to respond within 24-36 hours but could take upt to 72 hours. That is 3 days, it has now been 11!

stormypetr, feeBay just cares about your money. Prepare to pay more for canned emails.

I would swear I already responded to this, saying "that's what they do--not respond."
