If you have a page from an old magazine with two equally wonderful ads, one on each side of the page, what do you do? (I mean, besides deciding which has more appeal to the most buyers.)
I suppose I could copy one of them with my color copier, but would the buyer be as happy with a copy of an ad versus the original sheet?
Do some of you color-copy all of them and sell them that way?

Roadsmith,
I sell many advertisements, and I do run into this problem on a regular basis. There are two options. One, you can do research and find out which ad will bring in the most money.... or Two, you can show both sides of the ad, and market them in two different categories. Both have their benefits. (option one costs less and takes less time to describe... option two gets you more coverage and can have multiple interests competing for the ad)
NEVER photocopy the advertisement. Most advertisement artwork/design work is copyrighted and protected through copyright laws. In most cases, photocopies of these ads are illegal to produce. Regardless of the legal issues concerning this practice, many collectors are very much opposed to purchasing reproductions when originals can be found at comparable prices.

eauctionmgnt: Thank you! Show both sides and list in two categories--why on earth didn't I think of that?! Sounds like a good alternative. And I promise never to photocopy them. I appreciate your good advice. ~Adele
