I received my antique trader today and there is a cute little blurb on misspelled words.
let's try to come up with some fun words on ebay with this
Mine; try a search on the word BOWEL,
verrry interesting, they even make these in tupperware brand, LOL!!
let's see what our imagination can find.

I tried bowel - best laugh I've had today. The network handling the big bowel game must not known they've been spelling it wrong all of these years.

Now that is nothing to laugh about. I was an x-ray tech for more years than I want to remember and to this day when I write bowl, it always turns out bowel. Go figure

That was pretty funny... I know of a guy who makes his living on ebay just buying things that are misspelled and then relisting them correctly. I'm pretty sure he would never give me his "master list of common misspellings", though. (of course I wouldn't ask him either)

I have checked some, there are about 35 shrits for sale, some very nice ones too.
and did you know chrismas was our newest holiday?
all joking aside though, isn't it strange how your fingers will transpose, or drop, certain letters in the same word every time you type it?

During Christmas I was searching for a Harry Potter item and found a neat item spelled as Harry Pooter. Knowing he hadn't gotten any hits I emailed him a heads up.
I got a nasty reply about how smart I must think I am.

What do perfume, a camera, a sweater, and a set of BMW wheels have in common? They are all being sold on ebay with "no reverse."
If you put the wheels on a car, does that mean the car can't go in reverse?

There are hundreds if not thousands of eBays that seek out misspelled words to get great deals for resale.
Not just spelling errors either, many book sellers and other sellers are constantly on the prowl for common looking items that are really very rare being sold by un-aware sellers. It can be, and often is, the savvy feasting on the unsavvy at online auctions, live auctions, garage sales, flea markets, etc. All part of the game and thrill of selling.

it is kind of sad that people get so defensive and angry when you are only trying to help. maybe they didn't know they could revise the auction once it started.

My latest finds were:
Reinstone shirt and
Gorgios dress
While back one seller had
Kay Ungur sweater instead of Kay Unger,
She relisted about 3 times ...
Then I could not find the listing anymore,

Hey, I heard Pepto-Bismol was a big sponsor of this year's Super Bowel!

A current auction: SHIVA (INDIAN GOD OF UNVERSE) SITTING ON MAT.
Why don't they just say "god of prose?"

Ok, this wasn't THAT funny since it was a video that I was selling. My husband actually caught the error the day it was closing (it did have one bid though). Lamp Chops sing along with Shari Lewis. He said what's a Lamp Chop?

I still confuse the spelling of the words sweet and sweat when I'm in a rush and do not double check. That has lead to a few embarassing moments.
