What a bummer! I just got 4 really great positive feedbacks. Unfortunately, none of them count because they are repeats. Oh well, the important thing is they paid fast, right?

sure they count! They might not raise your overall rating but they add to your positives and isnt that the first line above the Overall rating?

The rating itself is far more important though. Repeat buyers or sellers are a nice indicator of repeat purchases but different transactions from different users is a more indicative story teller. It's hard to believe that eBay and Bidville actually use to use their old systems of one feedback rating for every transaction no matter who was involved in each transaction. Shill bidders had a field day with those systems.

As a buyer, I look at the amount of repeat customers. It tells me that merchandise and service is great! They would not come back if it was not TOPS!
As a seller, I am very very proud of the fact that I have offer 750 feedback from repeat customers. When you stop and think about how many of them will buy 5-10 items and only leave 1 feedback for the bunch that is pretty good.
Repeat customers tell me obviously the seller is doing something right!

I hope most buyers will check for repeat customers. I will in the future. I usually only check the negatives to see if (for example) 10 diff buyers have the same complaint.

Repeat/multiple buyers are gold. If it wasn't for the high turnover/trade restrictions on eBay, good sellers could actually have a real clientele list. But the number of repeats do build profits.
