Check this out, I was browsing around looking for something to use thats a much better alternative to paypal, and just as easy, well I found it! It's run by Citibank and I'm sure its ensured! Works EXACTLY like paypal, and its COMPLETELY FREE right now for the first little bit!
How cool is that?! Works just like paypal! Run by Citi bank!
Sign up now and you can use it right away! Down with paypal!
I swear I'm not spamming I post here quite a bit! It's just realky cool and I know there is a bunch of buzz going around about paypal going out of business and yada yada, so check this out, at least open it as another option for buyers! Its free!!! No fees in the future unless you take payments and I'm nut sure what the rate is, but now its free and it can't be much more than anywhere else!
Thanks!

so far so good c2it rocks. there is one thing for sure their customer service cannot be any worse than paypal and i am not sure but i dont think they simply FREEZE your account when they feel like it and most importantly FDIC insured.

Well apologies. Damn everyone sure likes to spam messages complaining about how this is spam. That is the link c2it's website said to use, and if it gives me $5 for everyone that signs up then hell yes. I had no idea I would earn money from it.
I don't spam, and since a few days ago I have posted here quite a bit.
No problem to whoever the kind person was that said thank you.

c2it has the slowest, most difficult web site navigation I have seen for a payment service. I wouldn't do my customers the disservice of steering them towards using (c2)it.

I disagree, what is so slow about it? It looks almost identical to paypal to me. Received money, send money, withdraw money.
What more do you need? I click on the tabs to send and receive and they all load in less than a second on my cable modem?
What is slow?!

How do you know it is better? Judging by your 1 auction that you have listed right now, you haven't even used c2it yet!
As someone who has, I have nothing but bad things to say about it. Difficult to sign up, slow to get your money, and you can only have it deposited to a credit card (not a debit card).
I had customers who attempted to sign up, and after a week of headaches, we finally gave up and did PayPal instead.
It used to be a paid service, only the person sending the money (your customers) paid the fee. No customer in their right mind would do that, so they went free. My guess is that in the near future they will do exactly what PayPay did, and start charging ever-increasing fees.

I wonder what the fdic does except insure deposits or what you have left in c2it against the outfit going bust? I wonder what they will do when fraudulent purchases are made, or chargebacks are demanded, or they discover a bad card was used for your sale? I have not heard a wealth of sad stories about paypal IF the sale is made under their rules, and IF a seller doesn't leave a lot of money in his account, and IF you don't tie it to your regular bank account.

I like C2it's TOS. Non of this now you see it now you don't money and freeze on suspicion. Banks can freeze your money but they need a legal reason. I bank with Bank of America and have had no problems. The one time I had a question about an overdraft fee I called the help line, explained why I disputed the fee and the customer rep fixed it immediately. Paypal doesn't cut customers breaks unless they go to the press or raise one hell of a stink. If they would just treat customers with a sense some sympathy when they are scammed and offer help to get things resolved then they wouldn't be catching so much hell. Most of us who have a beef with Paypal aren't unreasonable, we just want to get things worked out amicably but Paypal seems more intent on stonewalling and refusing to except any of the blame for the rampant fraud they expose their users to.

may be now they raked in all that ipo money, they can beef up their customer service.
wonder how they will report earnings since ebay is their major market and sellers are listing less and less these days.

Where are you getting that there are less and less things being listed on eBay?
And PayPal on its way down....
And yes, I know it is only 1 day of trading.

I got a general question about those figuers. I just was thinking about this and though you might know.
Do those totals include store items? If they do then auctions could be down. I know mine are. I Put my items in my store and run a few auctions for people to see and have them come to my store.
Yes it is still a listing I know but I was just wondering. I list a store item for 5 cents for 30 days. I list an auction for 30 cents for 5 days.

It seems to me that ALL store items MUST have both store categories and auction categories on the selling form.
It is entirely possible that all store items are therefore also counted in the regular auction items through the magic of ebay accounting methods.
Of course, Ebay's internal functioning is opaque in the accounting area, but I believe their creative accounting of "registered users" for example leads me to believe that inflation is entirely possible. If you list in two categories, for example, it is reported they count each as a seperate auction.
Based on this supposition, I believe that Ebays growth in volume of auctions is primarily due to double category listings, store listings, and the purchase of various international companies. And that corporate sellers have begun to make up for the independent sellers who have left due to declining yields and higher operating costs.
This does not make Ebay bad. But I do want to view things as they are, not as some sort of stockmarket fantasy.
As for C2It, they are part of Citibank, no slouch when it comes to money matters. But the website is nonfunctioning or troublesome for millions of potential users and I will not ask my customers to use a second rate site. Paypal seems to work for everyone, and that is an important reason I prefer them to anyone else.

First of all, please don't bite my head off, but am I the only seller and buyer, who has never had a problem with paypal? I've called customer service a few times, over a change of address, nothing big, and have gotten through quickly and been treated well. I like the convience of the debit, credit card and the ability to withdraw money anytime from an atm. I also like the cash back, not big, but it helps. I don't think anyone likes the fees, but, compare to when I had to pay for a bank machine, bank fees on taking credit cards and all the paper work involved, I really can't complain. The fee more than compinsates for the ease of the transaction. I have found that a very high percentage of my customers use paypal and like to use it. The faster they pay, the faster I can ship and all are happy. I also love the ease for my international customers. I do know some people have had trouble, but I haven't.

palmwire,
The site is slow to load and in no may compares to PayPal's functionality. Not even close. I don't know how many transactions you process but nothing comes remotely close to PayPal's ease of use.
