First question: How do I respond to a comment in another person's feedback profile? I have left a feedback comment in SELLER'S profile, seller then responded. I want to respond to that response, but can't figure out how. I know there is a way, because the seller left me feedback in MY profile, I left a response in MY feedback profile, and the seller came along and left a comment to my response, all in MY profile.

Second question: Am I in the wrong here?

I won auction 2/24. I pay with credit card (seller has credit card capability) on 2/26. I asked at that time I be notified when package is shipped. I receive email from seller saying package shipped 2/27. Then, on March 10, I receive another email saying that package has shipped. My TWO emails to seller asking for correct shipping date went unanswered. On 3/19/2002 the package finally arrives, 20 days after it was paid for. The print I ordered was in excellent shape, packaging was great, the only thing I was unhappy about was the long delivery time. When I left POSITIVE feedback for seller this is what I wrote: "Print excell. quality.Pd w/cc,took over 20 days to receive. Not happy about that"

Seller then left me a nasty little NEUTRAL which said: "likes to leave NEGATIVE comments, disguised as a positive" I responded, in my profile, with: "After paying w/cc, still took 20 days to receive what I bought. I was nice w/FB!" To which seller responded, in MY profile: "a NEGATIVE comment is a NEGATIVE comment - period !!!"

In the seller's profile, in response to my comment, seller responded: "damaged item, replaced immediately, we work hard to please" (Too bad that 'work hard to please' has nothing to do with contacting the buyer! I don't think seller had a problem with my order at all; I think they have very bad 'go to the Post Office and mail this' policies)

Seller is a Power Seller, with 2714 positive feedback, 30 Neutrals and 20 Negatives. Almost all neutral/negatives deal with long shipping time or poor quality.

Any comments?

Log into your feedback page (click on your feedback number) and right at the top is a link that says Respond to comments

Is this just a buyer's account or a dual account? That is rotten of the seller to leave that, 20 days seems unacceptable to me, and you were kind to leave positive. If I were writing from my buyer account, I would have not been as kind.

In any transaction were there was a "problem" I NEVER leave feedback first. If I get ripped off I'll post a neg first anyway, even though you get a neg in response. You did the right thing, but still got burned. Feedback is close to useless because there is no feedback police.

You are within your rights to leave any feedback you feel is appropriate. I think your feedback was okay, but I don't think 20 days is too long to wait. Apparently there was some problem at the seller's end which they did take care of.

You are dealing with a busy Powerseller who maintains a 99% satisfaction rate. That was probably one of the (positive) reasons you chose to deal with the seller instead of some low-feedback newbie. As such, you might naturally expect slow shipping. That is part of the equation. Bottom line, the seller is reliable although approximately 1% of customers think his shipping is too slow.

Just as it is your right to leave your appropriate feedback, the same goes for the other party. Maybe you just hit him on a bad day. Next time you might consider the possible results from a somewhat negative remark wrapped inside a positive feedback.

BTW, the leave a follow-up, find the link in the Feedback section of the Site Map that says, "Review Feedback Left For Others." Think before you post.

Unfortunately this is the sort of seller that gives eBay a bad rep. Inefficient, sloppy and rude. Apparently if this person had enough time to respond to your comment they certainly had more than enough time to get your package out in a more prompt manner.

High volume sellers need to keep close tabs on quality and service goals. Bidders need to weigh the big seller's service performance before bidding. I'll accept slow service if the price is good, but not as a normal rule.

Feedback fights never work. The seller is immature. I would have left EOA (date) Paid (date) Shipped (date) Received (date) with a Neutral rating. Facts beat any other comments cold.

The seller shouldnt have told you item was shipped if it wasnt. If it was an oversight, he should have told you that it was and apologized and responded to email. Being a busy powerseller doesnt give him a license to be unresponsive to buyers.

Thank you for the replies on this post. I only have one ebay account, which I buy and sell out of. This certainly makes me think about getting two accounts, one for buys and another for sells!

I have been buying and selling on ebay for over two years. I have done a lot of selling, enough that I have my own credit card capability. I always go out of my way to keep my customer informed - I acknowledge payments, give shipping dates, follow up to make sure package arrived. I had a lot of repeat customers, and my feedback shows the care I take.

I guess I expect the same care out of any seller I buy from, and, sadly, I expect too much. I agree, this seller needs to grow up. I posted a response to his feedback in my profile to cover the neutral, and it was his follow-up to that, in my own profile, that had me spitting nails this a.m. If he has that much time, he needs to spend it in line at the Post Office.

I personally think 20 days is too long after a cc payment. Everyone gets so hung up on "not adding a service fee for cc use because it's against the law" that they seem to forget that by those same cc "laws", a card cannot be charged until the item is shipped, once the card has been charged, shipment MUST be within 24hours. Ask any mailorder company about that little credit card useage rule. If the card has already been charged and a holdup occurs, the merchant must notify the customer to see if they want to wait on the item, or cancel the order and have the charge credited back to their account.

Secondly, this buyer emailed the seller asking why she had been given two different shipment dates and never received a response. The least she had a right to expect was a clarification as to when the item shipped and if there was a problem with the original order, she should have been notified.

Lastly, although this may indeed be a busy Power Seller, if they can't handle the "volume" they need to hire additional help. If they present themselves as a business, then they need to run their operation like it's a business.

I also think it's ironic that this seller didn't have time to respond to an inquirey email but seems to have found plenty of time to leave retalitory NEUTRAL FB, post a response to FB left her AND post a reply to the buyers comment left in response to the Neutral they left....just doesn't seem very professional to me.

I would log onto ebay and set up a second account ASAP. I used to have one account as well, and I would never consider that again. The real advantage of a buying only account is that feedback does not really matter - It is stacked against the seller. Sellers don't choose their buyers based on feedback, but buyers do choose sellers. I'm very careful not to get bad feedback on my seller account, but I don't care as much with my buyer account. If they want to give me retalitory feedback, that is fine, I really don't care.

It sounds like you are expecting too much from the seller. I've been on ebay for 5 years now, and have had thousands of transactions. The overwhelming majority of people are really nice, but every once in a while you run into something like this.
