Hi
I'm new to ebay and AW (less than 100 FB)but I've been reading here for some time now and would just like to pass on this little tid bit. A few months back I listed an item and it sold for $25.00, I then experienced my first NPB, I later relisted the item and it sold for $75.00 (my second NPB), I've relisted it again and it will go off at more than $100.00. I hope that the third time is the charm as they say. I was just wondering if others have had simular experiences?

I've had lot's of case's when it went higher the second list. Most of the time though I loose all hope of selling if it need's to be listed the third time!

I'm also relatively new to eBay (4 months) and I've had only one NPB in hundreds of auctions. When I received no response to the third e-mail message, I checked the user's eBay contact info. When I tried to call, I found they had entered a bogus telephone number (a phone booth). I notified Safe Harbor and that user was history the very next day. Got a refund on my FVF, too.

By the way, FWIW: 99% of the customers I've dealt with these past few months have been terrific, conscientious and responsible people, and it's been a lot of fun (and work). The only customers with whom I've had any problems of any kind (late payments, slow communications, silly questions, etc) have all had "@aol.com" in their e-mail addresses, no exceptions. I do not know why this should be so, but that "@aol.com" in the address is now an automatic red flag for me.

I don't know about the silly questions stuff, but AOL drops a lot of mail before it gets to their users.

I have noticed this for a long time and finally last week there was an article on it in the Wall Street Journal. Some bright boy at Time Warner figured that since they were all one big happy AOL family now, corporate execs should be using the AOL mail system. Big time disaster, with lost mail, late mail and mail that simply vanished into the ether as if it had never existed. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of folks. They've been inflicting this travesty on consumers for years.

Here's the thing about AOL mail: Most AOL users HAVE NO CLUE that they are not getting mail sent to them. They blame the non-arrival on the sender; in our case, the eBay seller. I was able to verify the lossage because I have an AOL account for backup use. 20% of test emails sent to that account never arrived.

For me, when the winning bid was high and had a NPB, then the relist came in significantly lower. When the winning bid was low, the relist brought a significantly higher price.

I have an auction right now, the item I sold a year ago for $10, NPB, relisted it now and it's up to $23 with a few days to go. I'm expecting it to reach $30-40.
