First off, the link won't work even if I copy and paste it. Secondly, the phone number listed eiether rings and rings, or they never answer. The only thing I can think of is that my credit card may have expired. I'm pretty well stumped. I've been verified, etc and have been selling for 3 years with no negs or neutrals (thankfully).

Hi Ryan, I got the same notice! I have been on e-bay 4 years. And, you are right, none of the links work. I checked my Credit Card on file and it is fine! I have not done anything wrong or dishonest. I sent messages to ebay and have not received any response. Some April Fool's Joke...huh?...Judy of WCP

I got one of those this morning also. I have send a request for information to the powerseller address. I'll let ya know what they say when they respond to me. I have no bad or fraudulent info either so it should be interesting to hear from them.

Thanks for the responses! I also e-mailed powerseller support and he forwarded the message to the fraud team. Boy, this would be one heck of an april fools joke, wouldn't it?
My credit card was expired. I had an old card on file and just did a one time payment when the bill arrived. Atleast I'm not alone!

This from the eBay announcement board this morning:
"Several eBay users have notified us about a possible attempt to gain
access to their private information through an email solicitation made
to appear as if it is originating from eBay. Please remember that eBay
will never ask you for your private information, including credit card
information, in an email. Also, eBay will never send you any request or solicitation from a non-eBay email account. If you receive or suspect you have received such an email, do not respond to it. Send it to [email protected]."
Sounds to me like there's a con artist out there looking for credit card info. It was bound to happen sooner or later!

Anytime a link in an email has the number type url rather than text

This is always a warning sign that you should use extreme caution and your better judgement before clicking.

Well, just as suspected by some people, the email is a scam. I just received this from safeharbor:
Hello,
Thank you for writing to eBay with your concerns about the email you
received.
Several eBay members have notified us about an attempt to gain access to
their private information through an email solicitation made to appear
as if it is originating from eBay. This email did not originate from
eBay, nor was it endorsed by us. We are currently investigating this
matter and plan to take appropriate action once our investigation is
completed.
Please remember that eBay will never ask you for your private
information, including credit card information, in an email. Also, eBay
will never send you any request or solicitation from a non-eBay email
account, or provide a link outside of eBay for entering credit card or
other private information. In the future if you receive a similar email,
do not respond to it, and send it to [email protected].
