You get what you pay for. I will start hosting my photos at Auction Watch again. I have auctions coming off in the next 2 hours and for the 2nd time in 2 weeks they have no photos. I have cost myself more money on these auctions than I would have saved in a year using SD.

I tried them for one week. In that week on many many ocassions I realized I did not have any pictures showing up. Not only that I relisted that I could not relist and schedule unsold items. Nor could I copy and relist items that I had more then one of.

The guy who operates SpareDollar also has a full time job and he does seem to spend lots of time working to make the site a good one.

I just don't think the site is ready for me! (LOL)!

So after one week - only got 64 auctions listed - usually do at least 100 using AW. I realized that it had cost me at list $360 for that week. OUCH! So, I came back here and renewed my annual power plan or whatever they call it now.

If the site ever gets everything finished it will be good. But it is not there yet!

SD is ONLY about 2 months old!

There are some growing pains involved! There was a 5 day period last week when the pics did not show now and then, as Tomas was re-working the site's code.

I'm very impressed with the site and CS that Tomas provides.

Is SD there yet? NO! Does the site have potential? YES!

The GALLERY (free) is GREAT and, now that there is a scheduler, the SD LISTER works adequetely!

If you launch around 10-20 auctions/week, SD is fine right now -- if you launch more than 20/week, keep an eye out for the improvements in the works!

Yeah... many ISP's give you 5 or 10 megs for a home page. As long as remote loading is allowed, and on mine it is, why spend $$$ when you can FTP pix to your own page. A program like WS-FTP makes it childs play. When I began eBay that was the only game in town... and is probably the reason sites like Geocities don't allow remote loading.

We left AW and went with SD a little over three weeks ago. It's not quite to the state of art that AW is but then again the cost is FREE whereas AW is taking an ever larger chunk of our profits.

When AW decided to offer a stripped down version for the same amount of money for their services, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. We LOVE SD and have no intentions of ever coming back to AW.

Thanks for getting us to this point AW.

I never understood why people trust their pictures with a hosting service. My friend had his stored with the large one that just disappeared a few months ago he had over 2000 pictures of toy cars he sold. Took him a week to do them all again he learned his lesson now!.

Personally, I wouldn't trust my pictures to ANY of these type of services. We store ours on our on ISP, although I must admit, we have 4 ISP accounts for our business which gives us tons of space.

IF we didn't have such, I'd buy web space from someone like the over weight "Cow" service, I hope you know which one I mean and still have all the space I want, for a small amount of money AND have a reliable service which doesn't go down.

I lauch my pictures via Auction Tracker. But hosting is too important to leave to these launching services.

I agree SD has potential! I do like it and if I launched 20 auction a week I would have stayed.

Tomas and customer servise is GREAT!

But like I said - SD is not ready for me.

I do like the gallery and I DO USE it!

I really like the hourly detail on the counters BUT adding one counter at a time does not work for me.
I like the fact that the scheduler allows you minute intervals. AND launches close to on time!

I am watching the site closely. I check in everyday and read the support forum to keep me informed.

I also watch my auctions and those of others. Last week SD pictures were down ALOT! At peak times! Pictures were also down on Sunday and Monday (3/31 & 4/1) not long but they were down.

The site is good and if Tomas keeps it up it can be a great place! But right now their a too many things, such as relist and coping, that I can not afford to live without.

I do plan on going back...when the things I need are up and running.
