It really depends on what you are selling. I sell mostly craft books, so most of my buyers are women with children or grandchildren. My worst selling days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, my best day is Monday. I have a feeling that some people are either very busy at the weekend, or don't have a home pc and wait until they get to work on Monday! I think items that would mostly be bought by men, sports cards etc, sell better on the weekend.

Judging by your title, I am assuming that you know that 75% of the bidding that occurs is on the last day on an auction.
The best thing to do is vary your times. If you have an item ending on a Sunday may get many looks from one certain group. Auctions ending on a Tuesday may attrack a different group that isn't able to be on the computer on Sundays. You will find most any day is good because of work schedules, extra ciricular activities, ect. Every one is not on the computer at the same time and will look at auctions at nearly every hour of every day. One thing though, ending auctions on holidays tends to be not a good idea. But don't go out of your way to reschedule your normal life either. Work your online auctions around your regular lifes schedule.

I find the best days to end an auction is Mon thru Fri. It seems a lot of people who work in an office are on the internet during those days, as well as stay at home people. The weekends are lousy for my auctions to close as no one seems to be near a computer until Monday.

Try to end the auctions on a day when eBay is running at 100%. I've seen so many problems on Sunday I've changed to weeknights.

I used to think Sunday night around midnight was the best time to start/end auctions.
I experimented with different evenings.....all still ending around midnight.
I bulk listed a batch of auctions on Sunday and bulk listed the same batch (I have a regular inventory and product line) to start and end on Tuesdays.
For starters since so many people start and end auctions on Sundays at 11 pm to midnight launching was crowded and slow moving.
So many auctions start and end on Sundays that someone looking to find deals are overwhelmed and trying to view, think, sort, choose and bid that results became dismal.
I had more bids on the batches ending on tuesdays by a slim margin. The sunday ending batch had some last minute bidders but otherwise no action until the end.
The batches ending on tuesdays didnt have frantic last minute bids they were placed all throughout the week. Adding more on tuesday evening but not in a frantic pace.
I thought the Sunday and Tuesdays batches were too close together so now I listed dulicate batches on Wednesdays.
The most recent sunday batch was shamefully dismal out of 100 auctions I had a lousy 4 bids. The Wednesday batch had more bids by sunday evening than the sunday ending batch had...... go figure.... This wednesday should end pretty good for me.
But I do think that if you have a target market and you know the time they'd be online shopping on Ebay then go with ending your auctions then. Sunday may not be your best day.

Hi
I used to do only 10 day auctions ending either on Sunday or Thursday nights. I have since gone back to 7 day auction and usually end them during the week Mon-Thurs. I keep away from Friday endings as a lot of people leave work and go out to relax and could care less about the computer and Ebay.
Hope this helps.

When I sell, it's for extra income. So all mine end on Sat. pm. This is for MY convenience. That gives me Sat. night to get replies out and start packaging. I can also get auctions ready to launch Mon. pm., for a 5 day sale. If I had sales ending in the middle of the week, I couldn't always get to them.
It may not be the best for the auction, but it's the best for me!

I have not found that any single day is better than another. I start & end my auctions at 11:00 PM PDT. I find that most bidding is done in the evening, so this way I cover the whole USA & can still see how my auctions end before going to bed. I live in CA so it isn't any problem for me.
