I have it in every auction I do not ship internationally.

Every now and then, I do get a bidder who will ask, and I will say as nice as I can, no I don't ship international at this time.

Not too long ago, I paid $15. something on shipping to Hong Kong, when the USPS web page said way different, totally lost on that.

I have a bidder now, that the name looked familiar, so I look it up in my records and it was Mexico. I remember this one, kept the emails. I didn't know then (January) that she was in Mexico, and send my end of auction notice, I always say '$X.XX USPS Priority Shipping within the U.S.' She replied, 'look up Mexico, and here's my address, pack securly, insure, use Priority, and return receipt, thanks'. So I do (like an idiot, I know!), first you can't ship Priority to Mexico, unless its Global, and thats only to certain citys, one she is not in,and got the shipping wrong again, way wrong, I ate that one big time but sent it... She paid right away with Paypal and with Uncomfirmed (I know, my mistake there also )

I put it very boldly No international. Well she's right NOW bidding on 6 of my items, each weigh between 1 1/2 pounds to 2 pounds. And SIX of these. And she drove the bidding sky high.

These first auctions go off in about 13 hrs.

How badly would it be if I retracted her bid and put in my reason as I do not ship international?

I just looked at her feedback, and she has a rash of negs, and very 'manic' in responses.. insisting shipping too high. Never received item when you should have it insured... with followups of 'there is no insurance to Mexico' and on and on...

So my question is, would it be against anything to retract all her bids and block her?

I don't know how to put it any stronger, even when they write and ask, and I politely say no, they still bid!

I can't keep track of all bidders all the time, I have a lot going at one time.

I would really like any advice on retracting and blocking this one, esp. since the combined weight is going to be about 9 lbs and that is just the items weight total, not including packing.

Thanks!

I would cancel her bids and block her. Most bidders won't notice and the ones that due won't care, especially if you explain. Save yourself the headache and the potential negatives!

Interestingly enough I do ship internationally and I use a third party insurer because they are cheaper then the post office. However, they will not insure packages to Mexico, they claim that only 50% of parcels get to their intended destination, so when I ship to Mexico (which has only been once) I HAVE to purchase the insurance through the post office.

Thanks!

I was hoping someone would be up late

She does have about 200 some feedback, but the negatives were factual from the sellers, but she leaves them right and left, mostly because of items not arriving...this has been lately.

I didn't know you could insure to Mexico, it may be the area she is in? I looked up Global Priority and they will only ship that way to Mexico City, and 2 other cities there.

I don't need the headache is right, I can just see now, 6 negs from her.

A few negs she left were 'She is filing fraud' or 'She is putting in complaint to ebay'

I would ship internationally, at the moment, I am doing online postage, due to some health reasons, I have someone drop just drop them off for me. Otherwise I would do international.

Thanks!

Well I retracted and blocked her, and she did write me this morning, thought it was going to be a seething letter, and she said:

Hi XXXXXX:

I will be in Arizona until May 17th and would want shipment there. I am going to bid again.

And that was it... though she is blocked.

So I go look at my auctions, and there is a 0 feedback bidder on the VERY SAME items plus 3 more, now weighing probably 12 pounds in glass.

Gee I have a hunch its her, once she figured out she was blocked made up a new one. Just now, not bidding on anyone elses auction, bid them high again.

Any suggestions? Anyone? help? a few go by noon...

thanks

Even though I, myself know this must be the same person, I cannot prove it.

I just looked on my auction program, which gives all the email addresses of high bidders, the one from Mexico is a yahoo.com addy, this one is also a yahoo.com

This is getting old fast.. I would have to retract 9 bids and block another, and she still could get another one by noon.

In some of her feedbacks, she has comments from sellers that 'she likes to play games' more than once.

Brother. The best I can think of now, is change preference in PayPal to Confirmed only, she had paid with Unconfirmed last time.... this lady has nerve to just tell me she is bidding again (though she didn't know at the time, I had blocked her) and that would be that.

ebay doesn't check out new registered users at all any longer on yahoo, or hotmails do they ?

This is going to be a major headache, and I foresee 9 negatives..... just a hunch

you cannot purchase insurance on global priority mail, but with express mail,it is automatically covered for 500 dollars.
express mail may not be that expensive to mexico and epxress mail is trackable online.
money is money, have you talked to her about your concern and work out some arrangement with her.
if she can receive shipment in arizona, more power to her,ask her to confirm her az addr with paypal and you can do business with her.
let her come up with some way to alleviate your concern.
she must really like your stuff!!

Thanks all.

I have no problem with AZ, of course, and just wrote her, and told her I would unblock her bidding ID. And that with the weight of all the glass (paperweights) it would cost a bit, and gave her a guesstimate, but asked her for an address in AZ so I could calculate it ahead of time. I said I would wait to hear from her.

I would do intl. but right now, its pretty hard. Once I am done with surgery, not life threatening, in about a month, I'll switch back and do international. Right now, I can be home, list, and use the online postage. I can't drive now with the medications I am newly on now....

But I am going to change preference in PayPal to Confirmed only now. I think its just a little protection for me I guess

Thanks!

Hi Kiara

Yes I did, its U.S. and registered Thursday May 02, 2002, today. Of course I got suspicious because its all the very same items, and another yahoo address. I could be wrong! Maybe this person likes only my things, because their only bidding was done at the same time, and only my things.

Weigh your options and weigh your boxes. I would suggest that you agree to send the items to her. Go to the post office, stand in line, get a listing of the mailing options to her address. THEN, quote her the price she is to pay. If she disagrees to the price, file 6 NPB forms, she is history, and relist. I always list no int'l as well, and when they bid and win anyways, I tell them I will make exception and then quote them quite a few dollars over the PO shipping. That is to pay for boxes, time in line to get original quotes, etc..

Good Luck.

intercraft, I hear ya..I would do that, but she sure 'insists' on having things her way. As in last time, she wanted Certificate of Mailing and Priority (which even Global does not deliver to her city/town, I checked)

Now its different if she gives me an AZ address, thats fine.

She was outbid, but I do still think that she did make up another name, and this new name is on most of whats left of my auctions!

I was going to list more,I have them ready, but its like everytime I look, this person that registered today has bid on something else. Its getting to the point of almost ridiculus, the stuff she is bidding on is weighing more and more, and 10 would never fit in the biggest Priority box, the things are too fragile to pack too many together.

So I'll wait and see if this person is for real, if she is, then great. If not, then filing 10 or maybe more NPB's. I am beginning not to care if she gives me a bunch of negs, and I did worry a lot about that, now? its not worth the energy

I just hate it when people don't read and make up the TOS the way they want it, or try to...
