How much do you think is costs to start an auction with a million dollar opening bid? Check this one out ...

I first noticed this one in Feb. and since then she has listed it over and over again.

If I ever get a million dollars I already have plans for what I will do and it sure won't be bidding on that auction.

Imagine a bogus bidder leading them on until after 45 days and then getting STUCK with the FVF?

if it is truely worth all this money why not take the time to sell it all off one by one?

The total FVF would be $15013.12

The interesting thing is, all the description is of wonderful, beautiful things, but all the pictures are of stuffed animals, and junk.

The auction reminds me a little of the old Jack-In-The-Box TV commercial were Jack is at a trade show and there is a young seller trying to sell something at a very high price and when Jack asks if if he gets many takers on his expensive item the young sellers replies "It only takes one".

They need a few eBay Trading Assistants located in Florida to help sell the "good stuff".

Maybe there really is no real good stuff. It looks like 30 years of Saturday garage sales with week days at thrift stores and perhaps some evenings at an auction house buying whatever was really cheap - maybe even some dumpster diving. Notice there are even Beanie babies advertised. Wonder why there are so few photos to download.

GOLLY -

The sock monkeys alone, are probably worth that.................lol.

I have several thoughts on this auction.

1 - Ask them if the will do an escrow transaction, with them paying, of course!

2 - This might just be a cheap way to advertise their 'Antique Center of the South'

3 - Wonder what the S & H cost will be???

What is funny is the HITS the auction is getting without being featured.

i think she will be better of breaking them apart by category, how many sellers have one million dollars??
if they do,they should retire and not bother to deal with any more junks.1,000,000 dollars invested in ginnie mae yeilding over 6%,60,000 a year, thats good enough for me.
also how about buying a better camera or at least hire a professional to take some pictures??

There are many more pictures now than when I saw it in Feb. and believe it or not, the pics shown now are better quality. I wonder if she has any velvet Elvis pics?

WoW!!! What a potential bargain for the right person. NOT!

Boy, I like to go junking, but not to that degree. When I do, I'm a bit more selective that that.

I think the poster that said a cheap way to advertise her business has hit the nail on the head.

Does she really beleive this junk would even sell for a thousand, a hundred? I can't beleive this auction.

Or it could be a scam... She went to an antique fair, took pictures, posted them as her own, and plans to take an extended vacation overseas if the items do sell.

Not my name on ebay.

Yep, looks like advertising for her business. I wonder what a good starting bid would be if a seller was serious about selling (and shipping!!!) all that stuff as one auction. (Hello, ABF Trucking? I want to hire a fleet of trucks. What's that? Can I brink it to your terminal?).

LOL - I like one poster's comment about combining shipping. I wouldn't want it combined, it would get lost in all that other stuff; it'd take a year to find it!!!!

This is definitely an advertisement for her shop.

The auction reads like a Church Bazaar She includes the names of almost every type of collectible around so if you do a keyword search her auction would show up.

If this was a serious ad and I have seen auctions for entire inventories of store sold! There is almost always a very detailed laundry list of exact items you are purchasing, not terms like "PLENTY OF HATS" or "AN ABUNDANCE OF BEAUTIFUL MERMAIDS"

If she really wanted to attracte customers she could at least include pictures of the gold, diamonds, Gucci, Rookwood and such that should give people a reason to drive there. Instead all the pictures are out of my Flea Market nightmares.

I wonder if she sells any of her items while the auction is running?

She even gives directions.

ONLY ONE MILE SOUTH OF FT. LAUDERDALE
INT'L
AIRPORT IN DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA

"ANTIQUE CENTER OF THE SOUTH"

She should just include a map.

But hey if it works for her who cares it gave me a good chuckle.

I want to see just ONE picture of a beautiful cameo
or some Victorian Gold
and the last auctions she's listed were for her own daughter's used Barbie camera and some 99 cent Ginny hangers???
