OK, had a widget, this newbie with a zero and a shade bids on it sunday. Item closed today (monday) but hour before it closed, a regular customer outbidded this fellow. Then another bidder comes in with a high feedback number outbids the regular. No problem so far. But 30 minutes before auction closes I get this email from the newbie

-------------------
dont play little games
I know what you are doing and it wrong
if you dont want to sell dont waste my time
you will be repoorted
-----------

So I quickly cancelled his bid, mentioning "bidder accuses me of shilling, I do not want his bid" and blacklisted him.

Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?

Only if he's right!

I had a buyer accuse me of shilling once because someone sniped him. I told him to email ebay and have them check out the ID of the winner - they would then find out that the winner has nothing to do with me. Tell them to email ebay. That will satisfy him.

ihula, that's right, i think i will do that, should I tell the winning bidder to email him too? or should i not get them involved?

No, don't get the winning bidder involved. I'd be shocked if the person even email's ebay. Sometimes just the thought of "fine go turn me in...you won't find anything wrong" attitude will make them back off.

if you have nothing to hide just leave it and don't worry about it.

Leave the burden of reporting on the accusing bidder. Tell him to report it to eBay if he thinks there is a problem.

We have signs from God because some of us are too stupid to figure things out for ourselves.
