Has anybody who uses Prodigy as an ISP recently upgraded to Windows XP and is having major problems the last couple of days with Prodigy? Or have you gotten an answer from Prodigy? Or know what the problem is?

I have Prodigy, but not XP. I just looked at their help section, and they didn't even mention XP ... so I don't know

Basically (& me ain't no expert) XP is a jazzed-up version of 2000. From what little I understand, it AIN'T DOS based.

Thanks, everyone, for helping. We think it's solved but we honestly don't know which magic spell actually worked. My husband has fiddled with it and at least for today it's working fine. I do like Windows XP.

I upgraded to XP pro from Win98 about 6 months ago, and I have yet to have my system crash. At worst, I encounter a problem with IE, and it closes my windows I have open, but it has never froze or crashed.
One thing I did have a problem with was my USB cable modem. I did one of Microsoft's updates for XP, and my computer would no longer acknowledge my modem. I had to get an ethernet card, and attatch my modem thru that.

I had Windows ME with one disaster after another. When I bought a new computer with XP there was an incredible improvement! I haven't had any problems.
My daughter had Windows 98 and installed XP and she is happy with it also.
