I have an auction that closed. The winning bidder is in Canada and I said I would ship internationaly. In the E-mail I receved from the buyer they asked me to say it's a gift with a value of $1.00 I replied that I wouldn't because that is illegal. I think the buyer may back out because of this. If they do not back out what is the best form of payment to take? I am not setup for Pay Pal (working on getting the account reopened) I do have a c2it account and they allow international payments, but what other forms can I take.

Bidpay is good or they can send you a international postal money order that you can cash at any post office with no fees to you.
On the customs form just mark down what they paid for the item.

I state in my TOS that I won't do this. I just had someone request me to do so to give him a break and I just ignored his request. I suggest you do the same. Don't promise to do something illegal, but don't say anything about it.
When you ship it, mark the customs form correctly and let that be that. You shouldn't give him the chance to back out of his deal because you won't break the law.

I would tell them that if they don't want to pay the customs fee, then they need to pressure their government to make changes, not you, the seller. Guess someone has to pay for universal healthcare, and Canada Post is certainly profiting at a minimum handling charge of $5 - That is more corrupt than the USPS, amazing!

As I said I told the buyer I would not lie on the form about it being a gift. He has accepted that and is sending me a money order. I don't want to do anything that would make either of us commit a crime
