I just returned from sending a pkg. via FedEx Ground, while there, I asked about their free boxes. All of their boxes are made for things like documents. The largest one is approx. 12 X 16 X 3 inches. Not a box in the lot that I could use. These boxes are for regular FedEx, not FedEx Ground.

I have a box here from Fedex that is 12"x12"12". There is a small and large size that is square. They stick a "Ground" sticker on the box so it shouldn't matter if the box doesn't say "Ground."

According to the rep I just talked to at 1-800-Go-Fedex boxes (no tape) are free for Ground and Express if you have an account. She said boxes are mailed to you directly at no charge. I have used them a couple times (Ground) without an account, but it might be worthwhile to open one for free boxes.

Just returned from the FedEx office, They say NO WAY can you use the Express boxes for Ground. I talked to 2 people & they said they would not allow it. So, if you can get by with it, you are lucky.

I just tried to order boxes through 1-800 GO FEDEX, & got the same answer that I got at my local office, NO boxes for Ground shipments. The way I look at it, "airloom" is mistaken or filling us with hot air. I am now going to look for a supplier where I can get boxes that will fit my needs. If the cost is too high I will stay with USPS.

I know nothing about FedEx shipping, but......slightly off the subject....
Do any of you remember, when some shippers (not you and I, of course) were turning priority boxes inside out and using them for parcel post, etc., and the post office started "busting" people for it?
And someone (I think it may have been HCQ) made the suggestion that we should all get some FedEx boxes and turn them wrong side out for USPS non-priority mail?
Well, I did. The next time I saw a FedEx man, I asked him if I could have some boxes, and he gave me a stack.
Unfortunately, I only used one...felt so dishonest about it (and worried what my customer would think of me) that I never used any of the rest.
