from the just-received Krause newsletter:
eBay's Turbo Lister to replace Mister Lister feature
By Scott Kelnhofer
eBay announced plans this week to replace its Mister Lister selling tool feature later this year with its new Turbo Lister feature, promising the ability "to create eBay listings faster, easier and better than before."
Among the features and enhancements of Turbo Lister is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor and new templates designed to help sellers create more attractive and effective item descriptions. Turbo Lister will also provide sellers the ability to save the listings they create in the program to use again whenever they wish.

From The Auction Guild Notes Mon 10 Jun 2002
eBaY is planning on eliminating the easy to use and workable program Mister Lister at the end of 2002. They are replacing it with a program called eBaY Turbo Lister. Despite endless requests for simplicity and ease of use, eBaY is adding features such as an allegedly WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) description editor; HTML templates, an ability to save the listings you create in the program and use them again, upload to the eBaY API instead of a separate Mister Lister back end and a fee based scheduling option. Sellers will be able to import items from existing Mister Lister collection files.

Sounds like a possible 'coffin nail' for AW?
Scheduled launch times for a fee and easy-to-use?

Why do you say that bidsbids. For us that don't use it what will we do. I have never seen the Mister Lister and I have no idea how it works. That just means that eBay is going deeper into your pockets and making Meg richer. With the added fees will the average person beable to still sell on eBay?
Everything eBay has has to be better, faster, more inhanced and also more money. I know they are in it to make money but I guess their motto is take from the poor and give to the rich. Doesn't AW have scheduled auction times? I thought I saw that at the bottom next to the launch.

"Scheduled launch times for a fee and easy-to-use"
It depends on what they mean by scheduled launch times. With SAPRO, you can schedule your launch times right now. What they don't tell you in the advertising is that you have to have your computer ON, Conencted to the internet, and SAPRO must currently be running.
Their software does a normal manual auction launch, it just has a timer built in. Pretty much useless.

There maybe some denial here. Let's say the new lister really is east-to-use and lets users schedule the launch time of their auctions for a nickel. You don't think that won't cut into the present and potential AW user base?

I use Mister Lister. It's already very easy to use right now.

Good. Then if it gets even easier to use the average AW user should be able to manage using it.

Bidsbid-You can't teach an old dog new tricks. I am settled in here at AW, I feel very comfortalbe and I see no reason to leave. I list auctions anytime I want. Meaning I have no better day or time and I feel I do quite well.

Ebay is much like MicroSoft. It will do anything and everything to squash competition. If AW is a minor annoyance then eBay leaves it alone, if AW grows to 100,000 members and boasts of being profitable earlier than planned, then it becomes a target and god help em.

at just means that eBay is going deeper into your pockets and making Meg richer.
I thought the same thing at first but according to the information it will be free to use. If you don't use the scheduling feature you won't pay anything.
Turbo lister will basically be Mr. Lister with an HTML editor and a scheduling option. Doesn't sound so bad to me.

Why would I want to leave AW? I can schedule auctions for day & time of day now at no extra charge. I have been doing it for 2 years. I am very happy with AW & hope that it keeps growing.
