Yes, I found through Ebay that Ebay motor's has a glitch in their listing program which will allow anyone to go in and "revise" the title making it much longer than 45 characters.
They say they will be fixing it soon and it should not be happening. I had asked because another board had posted an ad number which showed the ad with 87 characters.
Anyone sell in Ebay motors can give it a try. Unfortunately, I do not list there so miss out completely.
When I posted the original question I did not know how it was done and was just curious.

This isn't about eBay's title character linit but still informative. Sometimes on Yahoo you will see a very long auction title ( beyond the Yahoo 50 character limit ). One day I wrote to a seller with an auction that had a lot of extra characters and asked how he did it. He wrote back that there were old auctions on his account ( stored forever like AW and not like eBay ) and that as long as he didn't delete them that Yahoo would let him still use them ( must be multiple & identicle items ).
On Bidville the title character limit is a lengthy 75 characters due to the fact that a programming error was made when the BV search engine was created that made description searches not possible there. The large amount of title characters were added to help offset the lack of a description search.
