For those of you who use on line postage systems such as Endicia or similar systems, WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT INSURANCE? We insure EVERYTHING, and I don’t see the real advantage to the on line postage systems WITHOUT being able to insure.
I understand printing the postage on line saves time standing in line at the Post Office, BUT, unless one can also print out insurance, you still have to go to the post office and stand in line, so where is the big time savings?
1. How do you insure, if you use an on line postal system?
2. Which on line postal system do you use, and how do you like it?

Concur fully with the last poster.
www.upic.com takes care of my insurance needs and far cheaper than getting it from the USPS.
Endicia is best thing to happen to me from the shipping standpoint. I take all my packages (including international) to the loading dock of my local PO and drop them off there. I do not know if you have to make arrangements to be able to do this - at mine I just asked and they said to go right ahead and it was not a problem. Now my daily waiting in line for 20 minutes or more is down to 1-2 minutes (the time it takes to back up and unload my trunk).

THANKS SO MUCH, I’ll check PIC out. Actually, since I have someone who takes the mail to the PO, and we have to go daily for mail pick up, it isn’t a hassle, it is the time that it takes to wait to have all the mail done, plus all the hands on paper work my 2 assistants have to do with the insurance slips, etc.
When you have an insurance claim, how well does PIC work then??
I want to eliminate the hands on paper work and keep better records, more than anything else.
ONE MORE QUESTION: Why use a system like Endicia when I would think you could do such on line through the USPS itself????

I've been using PIC insurance for more than a year because I got tired of waiting in PO lines. I use Stamps.com along with it and it works out great. It is a small downtown station with 2 clerks. They are extremely friendly and actually like to see me. I set the packages on an unused counter, they stamp them. That's it. Sometimes I have to make two or three trips to my van because I have large or several packages. I usually go everyday. If I had to get back into the line each time, it could take forever.
About PIC insurance - I have only had one or two claims in all that time and it goes smoothly. You have to send a weekly report with a small amount of info about each item which is no problem for me.
By the way, with the PO having a way to print labels and postage from their site, I might check that out and do that instead, because Stamps.com charges $18.99/mo. Pam
We decided to sign up with Endicia, as they have an automatic link up with PIC, which means no double writing, loging, etc.....and Endicia is only $9.95 a month - the packages which we ship USPS are all shipped Priority/Insured/with the Free CofD; anyway Endicia seems to us, with their agreement with PIC, to be the best way for us to go. I have already installed the Endicia program and it is really nice, and I "think" it will do the job we need.
