I know you can sell oem software such as windows if you include a major part to comply with microsofts tos but what about office does anyone know about reselling office xp I have 30 sealed sets never used never registered it does use the automated register function the first time used and wanted to know what I was going to have to do to stay legal for its sale

I recently had a Office 2000 veroed because it was a sealed CD, but not the original box. As long as it's in the original box and sealed (make sure to state that in the auction) it's ok. When I emailed Microsoft to ask them why they pulled it (they were actually very nice about it and replied to all of my questions) they said that they looked up the OEM number (or some other number) and found out that it was the kind of software that comes with the computer and I can't resell that. You should be fine.

Are we talking apples and oranges here? I agree with the idea that selling microsoft software with *the box* is usually valid...since its the *retail* version that comes in a box, and its ok to resell retail versions.
If the original poster is talking about sealed *OEM* versions of Office, there will be no box, and I think they would need to go with the same kind of hardware they were originally sold with to be legal.

Ok oem software with windows oem software that is sold with the complete computer you must include a major computer component to resell the software
would this also apply to oem office say branded software such as the full version of office xp that is included with a compaq would you also have to include a major compaq part to comply with the ula
