I have an object that looks like the end to a harpoon or spear perhaps. It is definatly machined and is threaded so it can be put on something.
Any idea what this is anybody?? Also do you think it is even worth the $.05 I paid?

This is not a spear or harpoon!
It is a spent bullet!
Can tell it was fired by the rifleing grooves on the brass.
More than likely a practice round.

look if you can see any marks (letters, numbers ) on it and do some research on yahoo, some gun collector might have ineterst in it if you can indetify it better.

I have a vase that was made during WW2. It belonged to my mother who was a LT during that war. If you look on the bottom, there should be some marks telling the size of the bullet. Mine is really big so it is easy to see. It may have a number and the letters MM next to it.

The poster should have maybe placed a second photo that showed the thread base of the item. There can be no markings if the base is threaded. I think the item is for an underwater speargun or harpoon like the poster speculated.
