I have a customer who claims they did not bid on an item. I am not sure how to handle this. I believe they did bid on ti but now have decided they do not want the item. I told them they needed to turn the situation into ebay becuase someone was bidding using their ID. They said that they would do that.

You need to treat this just as if this person is a deadbeat. Most likely is anyway. File NPF, FVF and Post the Negative for nonpayment at the proper points.

Chek to see what else she has bid on. Sometimes people bid on lots of stuff, then realize they can't pay for everyting.
Most common excuses:
1)I Didn't bid on that, ebay made a mistake.
2)My daughter/son must have been playing with the comuter and accidently bid.
3)I cancelled that bid.
4)The person placing the bid has died.

How about this...
Dear buyer,
I am sorry to hear that your eBay account has been compromised. If you have not already contacted eBay through http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-RS.html, please do so at this time. Ask them to verify that the IP address where your bid was entered was not your own. When eBay responds, please forward that to me at [email protected]
eBay will repsond to you within the next 24 to 48 hours. If I do not receive a copy of the response sent to you from eBay within a 7 day period, I will file a Non-Paying Bidder Alert and eventually request a credit for the Final Value Fee which could possibly lead to your suspension. For more information on eBay's Non-Paying Bidder Program visit http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/npb.html.
