Someone please help me!! I purchased a cd from someone on 4/20/02. I never recieved the cd, and it was paid for with a Postal money order, therefore it takes 60 days for them to wait and make sure that it is not cashed in order to get a refund. I did have another seller burn the cd for me at no extra cost, because I bought a cd from him about the same time, and actually thought it was his cd I never recieved. Now this @#$% thinks that because I got my product I should be happy. I am waiting to hear from the post office to find out if it was cashed (the first guy swears he never cashed it), but now that I tell him I have a trace running on it, he says so what you got what you paid for, so what is the problem. Well, the problem is the NPB that I recieved, plus the fact that he got 10.48 that he did absolutely nothing for. He has an attitude in his emails and doesn't even seem to care about having an unsatisifed customer! What in the world do I do if he did cash the money order? Someone help me, before I give this up all together....it is sometimes more trouble than it is worth!

If they did cash the money order and do not send your goods thats postal fraud.
You can report them to the post office and the local police department where the seller lives.
Find out where your major district post office is and file a report there.
Let ebay also know about this.
Even if ebay does nothing at least it will be on file.
Do a trace when you can in case the money order did get lost first.
Sounds like a seller who needs to work on their people skills.
Best of luck.

I am running a trace and hopefully will hear something within the next week at most. How do I contact ebay about this? I am new to this and even got into selling, but pretty stupid about some of this stuff. And yes, he does need to work on his people skills. Don't people understand how important customer service is? I know I do!! I would hate to think I treated someone the way I have been treated as a buyer. I mean it is only ten bucks, but ten bucks is ten bucks, right?

When you contact Ebay and the post office I wouldn't mention the copy someone else burned for you. Just the fact that you paid this guy for something you did not receive.

That's true...I am soooo upset that I didn't even think of that. I guess I should consider this a lesson learned...

Don't get me wrong. The original seller owes you a refund or your cd. It's just that the other "copy" you received from another seller could be against Ebay rules and therefore cause more damage than good.
I would definitely go after this seller and demand a refund.
Purchased a CD and didn't get it. Fine. You deserve a refund. But why did you have to tell us that you and a seller committed a felony and violated federal copyright laws? Was it to garner sympathy?

First of all I did not realize that this was against the law, much less a felony. I did not post this for more negative attitude from someone who doesn't have any constructive advice. Why do they sell cd burners if you can't burn cd's. Call me stupid, but I didn't have a clue. What can I say I am a blonde from the hills of North Carolina. But please, I am really only looking for some help, not criticism. Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe we should just end it here......A special thanks to those of you who had constructive advice and genuinely tried to help me, not criticize. I may be a newbie, and not savy to all the ways of the world, but please, don't bash me, I am just another poor human being. And no I was not looking for sympathy, but since you brought it up....

You have a couple problems. First, if the money order was lost in the mail it is not the sellers fault, and since you don't know yet if he did cash it how can you file fraud?
The second problem is if you buy an illegal item, which sounds like you did, the law won't help you recover your money. It is still a criminal matter if he did cash your money order though and doesn't send the product, but keep in mind, the police may file charges against you too. The seller probably knows this and that's why he is playing hardball.

This is something that doesn't quite make sense to me. We've only lost 1 package in 1000s of transactions, but it seems like money orders and checks are lost in the mail at the rate of at least 2 or 3 per month (if we take our customers at their word).
There must be a lot of dishonest people working for the post office.

I'm a little confused about this situation...
Did you pay late and that's why you got the NPB? Did the seller say he mailed the CD or were you out of luck because of paying late and he'd already sold it to someone else?
Did you ask the seller to send the MO back to you? That's what most responsible sellers would do.
I looked at the NPB appeal link and didn't see a reason called "I'm a blonde from NC and didn't know any better." Just kidding...

And I think the authorities should look into the burgeoning death rate among relatives of eBay bidders. Just the other day seven people told me they would have paid sooner but for a death in the family.
All I can say is, if one of your loved ones bids on eBay, be careful!
