what kind are they? I put an auction on and called them an acorn. A seller wrote me and said she doubted they were, she thought they were buckeyes Now as I think about it they look like hazelnuts. Any opinion? I would appreciate all the expert advice given on this board. Thanks

Here's a vote for hazelnuts. If they were chestnuts, someone would have already roasted them on an open fire

This is a picture of the full necklace. I agree that they are hazelnuts. Is there anyone out there that use to go picking hazelnuts? I did that when I was young with my father, what a way to spend a day, ones to remember. We would wait until the first frost and then go to our favorite hunting place. Always got bags full. Never thought of making a necklace though.

Hazelnuts is my guess. I've only seen them on the packages of foreign candy bars at the import store with chocolate and hazel nuts on them.
The necklace? May be a fertility thing, but then again I suppose that about most items I see.

Hazelnuts!
I and my cockatoo get our fill of them every Christmas. They're my wifes favorites so that's what we get! Gus cracks them and I eat them!

Hazelnuts, look too small to be chestnuts.

Hazelnut Discovering hazelnuts in dreams predicts the finding of treasure. To be cracking and eating them means riches and content after toil.

Hi Guys
I have been a major lurker here for longer than I care to admit. Would you believe it took this thread to get me to submit my credit card? Don't ask.
Actually I have been messing in Photoshop lately so couldn't resist this. I've got this great picture of Gus but obiously I can't copy paste into this message board.
So how do you guys get the pictures into the posts? If you want to see my handy work you'll have to let me know how to get pictures in here.
Thanks

Hey Dad....
I would love to post this picture of Gus but alas, I be HTML challenged. Do you have to be hosted at AuctionWatch to get the pictures into these boards? I thought it would be a piece of cake. So, what's the secret?

Hello throughhiker
First your picture must be uploaded to a picture host. Right click on your pic and get Properties and then your picture url.
To put it on AW you put [img$] in front of the url and [/img$] behind it but take out the $ sign first.

When you say put in AuctionWatch do you mean AuctionWatch hosting site or here on the board. I do not use any of AuctionWatch services so I am not set up to do that. I just wanted to share this picture on the board. As you can see it didn't work. I'm not sure what you ment by drop the $, did you mean both? Do I need the <> as in HTML?
Thanks

You almost had it. You have to put [] kind of brackets around the img and /img.

One more time.

I'm guessing the $ keeps it from working so I could see what to do? If this dosn't work, I patiently await further instructions. Thanks everybody.

I got your photo to launch on a URL window but not with the {IMG} & {/IMG} tags here at AW for some odd reason. I copied the image and shrunk it down from 103K to 31K and put it on my boomspeed free account so I could post it here. I like the beads, very becoming.

You really did quite a job.
I need to learn some things about photo's myself. As you can see I haven't yet figured out how to shrink them to a more reasonable size.
Gus saw the pic, now he wants me to buy them for him. No point he'd just eat them!
Thanks! Really sharp!
