I ship all my packages through USPS and over the last 4 years have had almost no problems. Within the last 3 weeks I have had 5 media mail packages destroyed either accidentally or intentionally. Not certain which one. I use padded mailers-seal securely-wrap both ends with packing tape. Until recently I have never had a padded mailer returned to me or destroyed or torn open. Now I have 5 of them. Anyone else having these problems lately? I called the USPS and was told that their handling practices haven't changed so that isn't the issue.

Wow- I use media rate about 70% of the time - I sell a lot of videos. I mail out about 15-20 media rate packages a day, and haven't heard from anyone that they have arrived damaged. I feel for you, though.

id say, try using another post office for awhile (if possible) and see if you get anymore destroyed packages. could be like you said xmas in july shopping at your post office. which seems likely.

Good advice, to try a different P.O. office for a while. Also, do post a complaint with the USPS at their website; this was pretty effective for me a few months ago. They replied soon enough, and with a copy to the local office.
Good luck. It's disturbing to hear about your experiences!
