Outlook Express mail is from Microsoft WHO ELSE. It is who you get for email with road runner (cable) service in my area at least.

Hi toolhound ~ I also use Outlook Express for my email and in the past when same thing happened to me .... I ended up having to simply do disc cleanup ( delete temp files )and shut down and restart computer

If that doesn't work .. call your server, sometimes your mail settings in tool box can get messed up. I use Norton Anti Virus and Earthlink ~ once in a while my settings under mail properties connections gets changed to Norton as pop server, this happens all by itself and have no clue as to why or how !!

I had trouble with it this week. I emptied my temp files and emptied a ton of old e-mails in my "deleted" folder. It seems ok now.

Thanks everyone, I do need to clean out some old stuff and clear cache because I have been lazy lately. It seems to be working good again. I guess I am just spoiled this is the first email problem I have had since changing over to Road Runner service in January. I had AOL for 3 years before that and thought nothing of having email problems every few days.

This was my first problem, too. I had let my deleted files run up to around 200. OE shut down so many times I started to worry about a bug. Then it I realized I probably needed to clean up a bit.

Outlook Express is the mail you get through your ISP. Most ISP's have a tech support, just ask me I know all my techs by name, call your ISP and talk with one of them and they should be able to help you with your problem. Computer Illererite's like myself have to have computer support and mine is my ISP, that is why I don't have AOL or hot mail. I need a voice on the other end of my telephone telling me how to do things. Thank God for tech support...I have corecom.

Hi Guys Outlook Express is a program. It is an Email browser. Most of us use Outlook because it comes with Windows. Yes it does need maintanence to keep it running just like any other program.

Don't confuse your browser with your ISP. The ISP's such as AOL, Earthlink, MSN, Roadrunner, AT&T and millions of locals, are the folks that provide the access to the internet. Most of the big ones have propriatary browsers they would love for you to use so they can track you and spam you. The fact is you can recieve your email from any ISP to any Browser program, i. e. Outlook, Netscape, etc. (that could be a bit of a generalization)

Is this clearer mud?
