How long do I need to wait to relist an item.

Here is what happened, I sold a swimming pool on ebay. The buyer emailed me immediately after close and asked for a phone number so they could call to arrange payment and shipping. I sent phone number to them. 20 minutes later I get an email from another address stating that they have updated their email address and could I send information to new email address. I did what they asked. That was 3 days ago. I have not heard from them since. I have sent emails to both address with no response.

I do not mean to sound impatient but since this is a swimming pool the season is about to end. In a month I doubt that I can sell a pool. So, what do I do? How long is proper to wait?

Pull their contact information tonight and call them first thing in the morning. Tell them to pay with Bidpay and you might even offer to split the fee with them. If they are a serious buyer, there's no reason this can't be wrapped up tomorrow, unless there is an emergency at their end in which case you may have to play it by ear for a few days. If their contact info is invalid, contact Ebay and report it and then contact the next high bidder.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I pulled the contact information and tried to call this morning. The phone has been disconnected. Also in the only email the buyer sent me they said that they lived in a town one state over from mine and could they come pick up. The ebay contact info says they live several states further away.

What now. I have contacted the next highest bidder.

Report the bad information to ebay and sell the item to the next highest bidder. If there is any problems with the highest bidder later, just site their information being wrong with ebay and their being non-contactable. Once you inform ebay of the information being bad, you have completed your responsibility to the highest bidder.

I wait 2 weeks before I start thinking of NPB. I think 3 days is WAY to early to start phoning the buyer.

I don't think it makes any difference in this case. You have an NPB here pure & simple. Phone is disconnected, unless they have moved & have a new phone line, you can't contact them.
