My most memorable purchase/sale was back in 1998. I purchased an "Old Face Cranberry Teddy" beanie baby for $5 at a garage sale and it sold for $840. Don't think something like that will ever happen again

I bought an airplane model with a 3 ft wing span for $1.00. Tried to give it to a neighbor kid. Tried to give it to my husband. Sold it on ebay for $157.00. Two old moldy books for 50 cents. Ebay price = $175.00 for both. Husband bought 3 model kits at an auction for 50 cents each. Built one, gave one away. Sold the other one for $135.00. Tried to get him to ask his friend for the other one back. Now don't ask me about all the stuff I paid lots more for that I KNEW would sell and didn't. Many more of those unfortunately!

My most memorable purchase was a wedding band for my wife. Strange but I can remember every detail about that simple $150.00 purchase.

Last Nov. I went to an estate sale. There was a set of Royal Crown Derby "Traditional Imari" The price was $850.00. The man who was putting on the sale said that 2 or 3 antique dealers had been in & one had offered $500.00 I looked it over & told him I would take it. There were a pair of 10 in. candlesticks. I sold the pair for $1000.00. I sold the set piec meal on ebay for over $5000.00!!!

Dukes of Hazzard enamel belt buckle with the Confederate flag on it. Bought it for a quarter at Goodwill. It sold for $214.00. The auction went hot. Amazing...
Also an old silk scarf from some silk exhibition in Japan. The design was by Salvador Dali. It sold for around $75.00 and the buyer was absolutely thrilled. I paid a dime for the thing.

An iron I purchased at auction for $140 which I sold for $1375
or a goat head bell that I purchased for $12 which I sold the same day with a BIN for $135 (and they had 4 more at the auction - darn it for not taking all of them!) The lady who was having the auction cringed when she heard the final bid price!
Or a 3 foot tall Buddah carved from a single piece of wood that I purchased for $70 that I re-sold $275. My wife couldn't figure out why I bought it.

A mountain bike. Paid $75 for this bicycle with flat tires and covered in dirt. The wife thought I was insane. After a bath, and some air, it sold a week later for $459. I love when a hunch is right. She is an eBay convert now.

One of my best purchases was 3 yrs ago when a lady called me over to sell me china and glassware. She wanted $500 for all of it and told me that on the phone before I arrived.
There were 3 pieces of chintz that sold for about $2500 and the rest of the mixed pieces sold for about $4000.
And I will be the 3rd vote for wanting to know what Jack's find was.
