In the past month I have recived 5 packages that were shipped by UPS but the sellers used USPS priority mail boxs without even turning the boxs inside out. I didn't think that UPS would take a package like that but now I see they do. 3 of these sellers are powersellers that sell alot of items per week. Should I leave them all negs for feed back for misusing free priority mail supplies?

Bah, I would have to see it to believe it.

Anyway, did the item arrive safe? Did it arrive in a timely manner?

If yes to those questions, why do you care what box it came in?

Why bother with the negatives if the package arrived safely.

UPS WILL take & ship with anybody's box. I've done it accidently but when I notice it, at least I marked out the USPS markings.

If the boxes were ordered online from the USPS they (USPS) will mail the user a notice that must be signed, stating to the affect that the boxes are to be used for shipment via USPS only.

If they loaded up on the boxes @ the post office there is nothing to prevent them from using the boxes for any other use.

In fact a friend of mine found a bunch of the VCR sized boxes in a dumpster & we use them for pistol storeage at gun shows, (But I turn them inside out)

Two weeks ago I took a bunch of boxes out to FedEx to ship, and I noticed behind the counter a #7 Priority box that they had taken. It had most of the Postal Service logos blocked out with large "Fragile" stickers, but it was still obviously a PM box. Probably a protest against the July 1st rate increase.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I have over 50 #7 boxes & 25 # 4 boxes. I am gonig to try using one with FEdEX Ground. I'll let you know what happens.
Really, what do you care whose box it is? You got your purchase in a timely manner, didn't you?

I wouldn't bother negging these people, nor would I bother eBay with this. Even though this is a Major Crime, eBay is already overloaded with issues that they need to deal with.

Have you tried the CIA or Interpol? Forget the FBI ... they're a little too busy these days.

Good luck - I hope you are able to track down these varmits and rid the world of such awful scoundrels.

I wouldn't neg them for that as it has nothing to do with eBay. If you item arrived savely than why would you care. Well maybe this is one of the reason for the
increase in postal rates. When that person mailed the boxes or when the boxes reached the destination post office something should have been done than. Evidently if they don't care why should you. They eventially will get caught.

?Can you use Priority Mail boxes turned inside out if they have been used once? No I haven't done it but I have received items like that. They have even left all the information on the inside of the box, address label and stickers.

Let me see if I have this straight, you want to neg a seller because they use a USPS box and shipped via UPS.

Why would you give a neg to a seller just because he used a free box. Did he ship on time? Was it what you expected? If the answer to both questions are yes, the sellers deserve Postive ratings for completing the transaction as it should have been. To give these sellers a negative rating is not fair to them.

Shipping and Handling is always a major topic on these boards and a lot of people are running a business. The purpose of running a business is to make money. If someone can use a free box instead of buying one, good to him. It is not like he cheated you out of anything

And just when you thought you'd heard everything....

Seems like there are some people that just are itching to give someone a negative, and justifying in any way they can.

Big deal, they used a USPS box,you got it, like all of the above said, give the seller a positive!

I can't see why other buyers/sellers have to be warned about this seller using Priority Mail boxes with UPS. What's the logic? Do you have major control issues?

Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

If you want to be shallow enough to Neg someone over the box they use, by all means go ahead.

As a purchaser, I am more concerned with receiving the item. I want to know that my seller is gonna get it to me! I dont care what type of box it comes in. I would rather see neg feed back on dead beat sellers that does not ship. Seems to me that is more important that what kind of box it came in.

As a seller, sometimes you have to use what you have to get the product to the customer in a timly fashion. If it means turning a box inside out, or putting fragile stickers on it to ship it then so what. Its not like the USPS is going broke. The prices they offer are not competitive. In a perfect world where no one "misused" their boxes, their prices would still not be competitive.

If you want to leave a Neg feedback, pick something that would be useful. How about this one for instance. You pay a seller $4.00 to ship your item and it comes in a plain envelope with an .80 stamp from stamps.com. That should be something to #*!@ about.

Just MY Opionion!

Don't give a negative for that. They could have shipped it in a cereal box with crumbled cereal still in it, a meat package with dried blood on it or a pizza box with ants. Consider yourself fortunate.

The real issue here is the color of the packing tape. Was it clear or an ugly brown? If brown, I would absolutely leave a neg.

You actually remember, and can track over the last month, the type of boxes people use?? I thought I was organized. But this is a level of recordkeeping for which I am profoundly impressed.

Also, make sure that your report em to the Attorney General of the state for using the USPS boxes. You may want to talk to Postal Inspectors as well.

A perfect example of how undeserved negative feedback occurs.

I don't suppose you asked the seller to reduce the cost on the customs declaration to save you on tariff?

Gee whiz.

RB, it's difficult to forget that feedback.

Complaint: Item was packaged in old pizza box full of ants. Looked as if had been used.

Response: - Yeah, but your plate got there safe and sound. So what's the problem?

I agree, that is a cheap, underhanded excuse top drop a N bomb. Maybe some of you recall the HUGE thread about a year ago about the NEG left because of a tampon box used for shipping. NEG or POS feedback should be based on the condition of the item, speed of shipping and care in packaging.
