I am making a spreadsheet so I can keep track of my auctions and find out how much I made or lost on a sale. I am trying to have it calculate my FVF fees and although my formular I believe is right the answers I am getting seem way off. I'm using the following code where F2 is the cell that has the close of auction value

=IF(F2<=25,(F2*5.25%),IF(F2<=1000,(((F2-25)*2.75%)+5.25%*25),((((F2-1000)*1.5%)+(2.75%*(1000-25)+(5.25%*25))))))

This is what I get in testing

Close Value FVF
20.00 1.05
24.99 1.31
25.00 1.31
30.00 1.45
50.00 2.00
100.00 3.38
500.00 14.38
950.00 26.75
990.00 27.85
999.00 28.10
999.99 28.12
1000.00 28.13
1100.00 29.63

Do these numbers look right and does my forumlar look right?

Wow, that is a good looking formula but the one sure way I could see if it works, is just check your account page and see what the amounts are there and then compare and adjust your formula that way.

Just reminds me I need to work more with excel.

Problem is all my auctions have been under 50.00 while I don't expect to sell anything that would fetch over 1000.00 I want to make sure that if I ever do my formular will be right. If you give me your E-mail address I can send you the entire spreadsheet for your personal use. I just ask you make a donation (any amount) to your local food bank

I use the following excel formula:

=IF(O3<=25,1,0)*O3*0.0525+IF(O3>25,1,0)*IF(O3<=1000,1,0)*((O3-25)*0.0275+25*0.0525)+IF(O3>1000,1,0)*((O3-1000)*0.015+975*0.0275+25*0.0525)

My results are:

20 $1.05
24.99 $1.31
25 $1.31
30 $1.45
50 $2.00
100 $3.38
500 $14.38
900 $25.38
950 $26.75
990 $27.85
999 $28.10
999.99 $28.12
1000 $28.13
1100 $29.63

mannyl08753,

I have been struggling with creating this very spreadsheet for a little while now. I am a graphic artist and not very savvy with spreadsheets.

Could you please email me a copy of the spreadsheet as well at [email protected] . I would really appreciate......yes I will make a rather large donation to a local food bank through our elementary school's food drive.

Thank you again,

Dennis
