I'm just starting to sell vintage clothes and am looking for a source for large plastic zip-lock bags to wrap the clothes in before putting them into a Priority Mail box. Anyone have suggestions of where to get these? Thanks!

Hi,

I use the Hefty Jumbo 2 1/2 gallon. Some things will fit in a smaller gallon bag. I have also used grocery store white plastic bags and taped the item securly inside with packaging tape. ALmost 2000 feedback and no complaints yet, LOL! You can get the Hefty bags at Target, but they are kind of spendy.

I would also be interested to hear if anyone has a better source. Good luck selling!

I purchased the restaurant size saran wrap from Costco. It's 18" wide and you get about 3000 ft in a box. The box comes with a serated edge so you just pull off what you need. I just wrap my clothing and books up with saran and haven't had one complaint yet. Most people think it's clever.

I also sell clothing and bought a lot of them at great prices in 2 different sizes from 2 different auctions on ebay a while ago ... search by plastic bags and you should find them

The ones I use are clear plastic but no zip.. I use tape ... these are very large for coat size and medium for dresses, etc

Another source is uline.com ... they have juts about anything as far as shipping supplies, bags, etc ... they have different locations across USA so you can save some on shipping and their prices are very reasonable

NOT gina50 on ebay

Think about asking your dry cleaner if you can buy a partial roll of those dress bags they pull down onto clothes they've cleaned. If you're a good customer already, they may just give you a partial roll. . . .

I thought of this because we recently moved to another state, and I needed some more of those wire hangers with the tube on them to hang pants with. My dry cleaner GAVE me 10 of them, no charge at all.

Be very careful of those very large bags. They must be carefully placed well out of the reach of small children.

I go to Sams and buy white tissue paper and wrap my clothing and many other things with them. Then I put my Ebay Card taped on top of white tissue paper. You get alot of tissues and at Christmas time I buy the color ones.I think it is around $5.00 and you get alot of them.

Hi Vickrose!

The tissue is a pretty way to pack it, but I use the plastic to protect items from rain/waterdamage. I live in Oregon so rain is common here, but no matter where you live, you might be shipping to a wet place and alot of times the mailman leaves the package on your doorstep if you're not home and it could get pretty wet, LOL!!!!!!
