I'm just wondering if any of you would foresee trouble before it's over with this buyer!
Facts Are:

Auction ended with a bid of $2.75 + a fixed S&H of $6.50.

WBN was sent.

Buyer later contacted me saying: "The person you sent the WBN to was not me, I was at a friends house when I bid, and it went through on their ID".

I use AW services so WBN goes to winner!

They informed me:
My E-mail address is: XXXXXXXXXXX
My Address is:XXXXXXXXXX

They Asked Me:
Could you please give me a price on shipping the item Parcel Post instead of Priority since I'm not in a hurry!

Also Asked:
Could you Insure it for $50.00?

I will send you a check!

What would you Guys/Gals think?

Are there problems and a possible Neg. ahead?

It sure looks like problems ahead. How stupid do they think you are. The bidding ID and PW are linked. The friend bid and psychic you are supposed to know this? Sheesh!

I'd send a polite e-mail to both stating that your terms are in the auction and they knew that before they bid; please send payment etc.. The person with the bidding ID responsible. You might save the neg if you offer to let them back out and just relisted. Personally I'd decide that based on their FB and current bidding pattern. Use the "winner's" e-mail to see if they are registered. I tend to be hard nosed about air head bidders who can't read. They just make it harder for everyone.

Then block the idiot(s) from ever bidding on your stuff again.

Oh, and I'd pull their eBay info, address and phone, just to see if they match what either idiot sent you. If they don't...Safe Harbor!

I don't for see any problems if you do what he asks. You can insure any item for what ever you want but the USPS will only pay what the item is worth, or what the person paid for it. When you insure through the postal service and you apply for insurance, that is if the parcel is lost or borken, they require your EOA notice and when they see that he only paid $2.75 for your widget that is all he will get besides the postage. Then I would also send it parcel post because it is about 50 cents to $1.00 cheaper. I do offer the cheaper price if they want it, most don't but I will do it for them.
The only problem I see is if he pays with a check that the check bounces, so tell him that you will accomodiate him if he will send you a money order. Don't accept a PayPal payment, or a personal check.

Consider the source. Daddy O is always making up situations to sucker the rest of the posters into a bunch of squabbling. I am willing to bet big bucks this really never happened.

"I bid, and it went through on their ID"

No matter whose computer you use, you can always enter your ID and password and bid for yourself.

Tell him it doesn't matter who pays or where you ship it to, but if it "went through on the friend's ID" then the friend will get the feedback or NPB.
