Okay folks,
I have refused to put the Paypal button in any of my auctions, for several reasons, the most prominent being that I run a ton of auctions on similar items, and I get way too many overeager bidders winning multiple items and then sending wrong amounts, incorrect shipping totals, etc thru Paypal. Then I just have to refund their payments and get them to send the correct total anyway in 1 lump sum payment so Paypal doesn't charge me out the wazoo for each individual payment.
Anyway, I get a BUNCH of people who send me pathetic emails saying that since I don't have a Paypal button, they absolutely CANNOT figure out how to pay using Paypal and that they desperately need me to send them an invoice or somehow hold their hand thru the entire process. And these aren't all newbies, as evidenced by large feedback totals on Ebay.
Hello?? Doesn't anyone know how to use Paypal's website to send money? How do they ever know what's in their account if they never go to the site? Isn't Paypal's website about the EASIEST thing in the world to figure out? I'm just curious to know if any other sellers experience this or if my bidders are a special breed.
(By the way, I always send them very courteous and kindly emails telling them how to use Paypal, I've never let anyone know the thought process I go thru as seen above).

I know how you feel. I am constantly getting emails from winning bidders who can't figure out how to send money from the Paypal site.
Or someone will say they want to pay with Paypal...I've already sent them a WBN with the Paypal payment info. they need. Wait a few days, still no payment. Ask them what the problem is..."Oh, I dont have a Paypal account, how do I get one?". ARRGGGHHH!
Or just like today, I get an email..."I was going to pay with Paypal but my computer is broken and I cant figure out how to log onto my account from another computer." Uh...ok.
Makes you wonder who ties their shoes for them in the morning.

I don't know how new this is, but when you log onto your PayPal account, they have 'Manage Auctions' and it gives a list of all your auctions that have ended, then a button for 'invoice' and it sends an automatic Pay Now link to the buyer.
Paypal wants you to have them do all your WBN, but I opt OUT of that, I'll send an invoice from PayPal, when I get those ones, that say they just can't figure it out.... and I too, get way too many of them lately.

Easy way to stop that is say in the check out area. I will send you an email after I receive eBays EOA notice. Please wait for my instrucitons. Or put it another way do not send PayPal payment until you received my WBN. No I don't think people are stupid as it is a bit confusing to someone that hasn't used PayPal. Many sellers use PayPals WBN so then all they have to do is follow those instructions, very simple, but if you go in and try to do it without any information it is hard. I also state in my WBN, If you wish to use PayPal my email address is, I tell them and it doesn't take long before I get paid.
Getting paid is what sellers want so if it was me I would have written in Microsoft Word an explination on how to pay by PayPal and just cut and paste that into an email.

In this particular case, I personally would lean more toward the lazy side.
I had one bidder last night whom I sent my usual EOA with all the shipping details.
Well, to my surprise I receive an email from the "buyer" and she wrote the following,
I need for you to send me a paypal invoice so I can pay you immediately. PLEASE HURRY!

What about sellers that put a paypal button on there auctions and then when you use the button to pay they e-mail back saying they want it sent to a different paypal account that they have.I have had 2 sellers this week do that.

smenkveld:
If you used the button in their auction for the item that you won I would tell them to tranfer it to the account theyt want themselves....why should you have to do it?
