OK, I finally downloaded the trial version of paint shop pro. I admit I tend to stumble over anything complicated, but I wanted to take multiple photo's and turn them into just one. I understood there was an easy way to do this using paint shop.

I have played with it most of the day, but don't see any "easy" or "quick" way to take like 6 photo's, make them smaller, and turn them into 1. Can this be done easily? I have played with the layering but it is time consuming unless I am doing something wrong.

When I group my postcards I will have 10 to 20 in one listing. When I put 6 to 8 together and take digital they are too small to see. When I scan them only a few will fit on each scan.

Anyone have a quick 1,2,3, step process that can be used to make a collage of photo's they would be willing to explain? I really did go through the tutorial and have tried but either I am missing something or just spoiled by the ease of using Irfanview to adjust images.

I think you're thinking about the wrong software. I don't see anything on PaintShop Pro about combining images. However, Adobe Photoshop Elements (which is a MUCH better program) does have a feature called Photomerge. It allows you to do exactly what you're looking for and is very quick and easy. Adobe Photoshop Elements is cheap too! Just $99.00 retail (or $49.00 academic). Hope that helps!

Paintshop Pro7 is the best of the best, and you can do almost anything with it -

To combine photo's...make sure that one photo, obviously is larger than the other, have both photo's open.....

right click on the photo you want to integrate into the other photo, and click on "copy"; now move over to the photo you want to put the first photo in, and click on the 2nd photo, you will see the headliner on the photo light up. Right click, and select: paste as new image.....you can then move the pasted image around till you get it where you want it, and then just left click and save as a new image.

You can't learn PaintShop Pro overnight, I have been using it 3 years, and there are still many wonders I haven't used or discovered.....I couldn't top quality pictures for on line selling without PaintShop Pro....

I pull all our scans, photo's etc., into PaintShop Pro - we never mess with the little programs that come with the camera or scanner -

For those not familiar with PaintShop Pro, it is similar to Adobe, but I much prefer it....you can do anything, change colors, strengthen them, lighten dark pictures, write on your pictures, remove background, put in background, merge endless number of photo's, and a world more....BUT you don't learn its wonders over night.

Best of wishes on your picture mergings, that is really a simple application.

I'll try that as well tonight. The features I found truly amazing during the tutorial of paint shop was the ease of removing red eye and scratches from our family photo's. If I can justify the cost by using it for Ebay then I will be sold.

But, I don't have a lot of time right now so I will try both tonight and see which one merges the photo's the quickest.

Lindajean,

As long as you truly have photoshop elements, and not Photoshop LE or Deluxe (those are the ones that are usually given away.) you'll find that the photomerge feature should be the fastest. It's quick and easy. I teach Photoshop Elements to students, faculty and staff at our college, so if you need any help, just let me know!

Whatever your software, what you need to do is make a canvas and copy and paste photos onto it.
First resize your photos. Then take one and make the canvas as large as you would like.
Then open the others, using the capture tool, copy then paste onto your canvas, you can have multiple images open in either program.
To be honest, that's a lot more work that I like to do.
It's easier for me to make a big photo that is clickable from a smaller version.
So far it's just that much faster.
The pros and cons of Adobe and PSP aside, they are both nice, sometimes it's just easier once you bond with the program.
I have Adobe at home and PSP at work. I also have a program that came bundled with my scanner, that, for resizing, is even faster to load and work with.
Best of luck. If that didn't make any sense you can email me, I am easy to reach.

Japerton,

The cut&paste into one large document used to be the only way to combine multiple pictures. But photoshop elements eliminates that process. With the photomerge feature, you simply tell it which image documents to combine .... and it does it! It is truly like magic! For more information, view adobes website at:

Believe me.... it's a great time saver!

Yes, I do have Adobe Photoshop Elements. The other Sony computer came with Photo Deluxe but this one has the full elements with it.

I tried the merge feature, but obviously, it will take a little further study as well.

At least now I have an option with a program I already own versus paying $99 so I appreciate your letting me know it does this. I will have to attempt to learn a little more about how to do it this weekend.

Thanks so much for telling me about Adobe Photoshop Elements. I merged the photo's and it is exactly what I wanted. They are clear and it works so easy!
