On the 27th I had an auction close for a large old book full of piano sheet music. Within a couple of days of the winner's receipt of the book, she e-mailed me and said it wasn't what she thought it was. Alluded to the fact that I had misrepresented the item in my ad. I don't see how as I always have details out the wazoo so as to avoid any misunderstandings, and I want my customers to be happy. In her e-mail, she mentioned that she had expected to photocopy some other pieces to go with this book. Ah, here lies the rub...although she was adamant about returning the book (which I agreed to) it hasn't gotten here yet. I am wondering if she is photocopying music from MY book and then intending to return it. How much longer should I wait...it's been 3 weeks already and I feel she should have returned it immediately. Last contact from her was 6 days ago...
What do you think?

3 weeks is a little long to return somthing you are not happy with... did you question her about when she did return it and how/ who she did it by....What did she say in the last email to you ???

She said she would "get around to it". (She hadn't mailed it yet.) I told her I felt she had had enough time, that I had already expected it back and to mail it ASAP. That was 6 days ago. That's why I was wondering if (or when she does get it here should it be much longer), should I refuse it and send it back to her. I know that if I were unhappy with an item, I wouldn't wait 3 weeks or longer to send it back. The length of delay and the photocopying remark is what makes me feel that she isn't on the up and up. I want to just go ahead tell her she bought herself a book (which will garner me a negative feedback I am sure)!

It sounds fishy to me. I bet she is photocopying it. I wouldn't refund her, and if she does return it, refuse it. I'm sure if she does neg you and you explained it no one would hold it against you. Try not to let the fear of a negtive stop you from standing up for yrself. I you know you sent what you described and feel comfortable with that, it's all you need.

Good luck and please keep us posted:
