Will probably get my 3rd neg very soon...had a sale end 9/22..no email response until 9/30..promised to send payment right away...still nothing...I just left this persons first neg..which gave them a total of 0 feedback.
This buyer has won over 30 auctions in the last month and only had 1 feedback...this says to me that other sellers are afraid to leave the negatives this jerk deserves...
Yes, a neg will hurt my feelings but it will not hurt my sales...my over 600 feedback is full of "great item" "great packing" and "fast shipment". I think it can take a retaliatory neg and keep on rolling.
If more sellers would do as they should these deadbeat buyers would be gone....

I just hope you followed up the neg with a NPB alert and FVF request from Ebay. If two other sellers do the same thing, he won't be able to leave ANY feedback. Maybe the neg you left will prompt some of the others to follow up also.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

rarriffle: Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. Buyer asked for shipping charges & I never heard from her again. I followed the book did the NPB & requested refund. Then I negged her She had 1 pos, so now she is at ZERO. Like you I have over 400 positives with glowing endorsements. I am not going to worry.

Thanks Rarriffle! Be brave! I think if more sellers left those deserved negs, bidders would be less cavalier about disregarding
ebays "legal, binding" contract. I always leave deserved negs. I have left 5 negs for non-paying buyers in my 4 yr. history. 2 left retaliatory negs. I always do an unemotional follow up to the neg., explaining the neg. is purely retaliatory feedback from a non-paying customer, and welcoming inquiries as to the details of the tranaction, should anyone want to email me if they are concerned. This way, if the deadbeat checks back on the neg. feedback they left, they can see that they do not get the final word, end of story. I just read another thread where a buyer said she "made a mistake" and bid too much!!! She now refuses to pay more than...( what ever $$ SHE stated, I forget the exact amount).
What is with these buyers lately?

Your logic is flawed, giving them a neg will not give them the boot unless they are completely new and have no positive feedback. They can have 20 positives and 21 negatives, and I believe they can still be on ebay. The way to get rid of them is to give them a FVF, which I always try to do for items that aren't paid for. That is how they get the boot.

Sounds familiar. My deadbeat has won over 40 auctions in the last month. He has 6 positive and 1 neg. It seems he only pays on stuff under $50. I've heard from some sellers who aren't getting paid by him either.
I've started the NPB and will follow through with FVF and a neg. If stiffed sellers would file for FVF refund guys like this would be outta here and we wouldn't be here commiserating.

ahc, yes, we have to do both the NPB and FVF but if enough of us follow through we can clear some of the deadbeats out.

if they do not pay me or contact me after I send you 2 emails even after ebay and AW flood you with email and I file NPB and FVF and I neg you I will not dance with these people

I wear my seven (7) negatives with dignity and pride for doing the right thing.
Regardless of how flawed the feedback system is it's all we have. I use it to the best
of my ability without fear of retaliation. I leave deadbeats a well deserved factual
negative for failing to pay after going thru all the procedural notifications, NPB and
FVF. This usually takes 32 - 35 days.
As far as I can tell the negatives haven't hurt one bit. My sales are brisk and have
doubled in the last year.
I run 100 - 500 auctions at all times and don't have time to play email tag with those
that don't intend to pay.
Just do your thing and move on to the next customer. The old saying about sticks and
stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me applies here.
I've left approximately fifty (50) negatives in four years and have received only seven
in return. If done correctly most deadbeats won't leave a retaliatory negative for they are ashamed to.
Below is the type negative I leave:
Bid, Won, Never Paid, Sent 2nd Notice NPB/ FVF to no avail after 35 days

I've got two bidders that are teetering on the "getting a neg" area (3 weeks, no payment...no response to payment reminder), and I still haven't hit that idiot who left me the undeserved neg last week (she's getting that tomorrow night)
