Like most of you I primarily sell. But on ocassion I buy an item or two on ebay. I picked off a $150 board game for $22 because the seller had misspelled the title and this particular game is very "keyword" dependent so I will make a bundle re-listing it. The point is.....The packaging the game arrived in. It was placed inside of a microwave oven sized box, sideways. None of the parts were secured and some of them had left the game box and were floating around in the motel sized packing box the seller had used. Granted, everything was salvaged and the item was as described, I could easily leave this guy a nuetral. I pack and ship games and other collectibles daily and let me tell you, after seeing this I was never so proud of the job I do when it comes to packing. It made me feel like a pro. It dosent take long to cut down boxes to precision size or pack up loose parts for the journey. Just a little something to take pride in I guess....

I sell mainly breakables, i.e. china & glassware. In 4 plus years on eBay I have had a total of 3 broken pieces. If something gets broken in shipping, it is my fault, not the shipping company. I just didn't pack it well enough. Many of the piecs I sell are in the $50.00 & up range. Most of them are irreplaceable, or rare & hard to find. I too feel proud when I get a feedback that says fast shipping & well packed.

Hi all,
I'm also happy when I get nice feedback comments about my packaging.
In almost 4 years and probably over 1,000 shipped packages - lots of them fragile, there has been just one thing broken. It was one piece in a big box lot of porcelain doll parts. Only had to go to Van Nuys (185 miles south) and FedEx managed to zonk it. Which means I didn't pack it correctly... I emailed the bidder that I wanted to send her some money to cover the breakage - she said Nahhhh.... just go to Starbuck's and get a coffee! What a gal!
