Have any of you noticed a rise in deadbeats? I have.

It used to be, almost everyone paid within 3 weeks -- the ones that didn't where the ones who had bad e-mail addresses, wanted to "cancel their order" the next day, it wasn't me it was my kid, etc. But those were few.

Last 10 days, I've had about 12 of the: "I bid by mistake, it was my kid (Who writes just like and has the same e-mail addresses?!), or some very creative ones like:

"I'll only pay if you match this price for a lower end, cheaper product"

"If you can't get this to me by Monday, consider this order canceled" (It was Friday night!)

Anyway, I've got 33 sales that I'm 100% sure are toast, and will probably have to nuke between 15-25 other people in the next 2-3 weeks.

Anyone having problems of this magnitude?

if you follow through with all of your deadbeats, npb and fvf, then we can get rid of some of these.

in the last 2 weeks i have given out more of these and neg feedbacks than i have in 2 years. one of them is now booted and at least 2 others are on the edge of being booted.

do not make any special deals or listen to the inane crap they use as excuses. that is why they keep doing these things, they get by with them.

good luck to you.

Wow. Ebay turning into bidville? Say it aint so. For me, I have had some slow payers, but so far (since summer) no total deadbeats. Knock on wood.

I have definitely seen a rise in deadbeats lately - especially the past 2 months. I list 20 to 30 auctions per week. I have about 3 or 4 (per week) who do not respond/send money & another 3 or 4 who drag their feet & pay in 30 days or so. I do file NPB & FVF requests & about 1/2 pay up once I do that. I also neg bidders who do not pay for their purchases.

Does : have a meaning or are you just in your own little world? I see that is your contribution to most threads.

No, it has no meaning, on topics that interest me I want to be e-mailed when there are new postings so I do not have to sit on this web page all day to keep up with everything.

As for my posting on the board, I have posted on several items.
